Windshield is geasy/streaky

Not sure what it is about my windshield, but no matter what I try I can't get rid of the streaking. There is some sort of oily grease that persists, especially visible in the sun. I have tried quick detailer, Sprayway glass cleaner, clay bar, Adam's H20 guard and gloss. Nothing seems to work.

Am I the only one? What should I try next?

Cleaning windows are a PITA. This laborious 3 step process seems to work for me. https://www.autoblog.com/article/cle...e-detail-ep-9/

Try vinegar or white spirits (not sure what it's called over there).

The last thing you want to use on your windscreen is a QD or spray wax.

91% IPA wipedown, microfiber towel. Just watch the trim as you don't want to constantly be wiping them with IPA. After you get them clean the first time, switch to something like 70% IPA mixed with distilled water at a 1:1 ratio

just make sure your towels are clean as left over laundry soap, polishing residue, etc will smear the glass.

I am assuming inside and not outside?

Great towels, a good glass cleaner, and a little time.

We initially like to use something like Optimum No Rinse to clean the window. Then you can take a dedicated glass cleaner to finish it out.

We use a wet towel and a dry towel. Dry towel is for final buffing.

Are you sure it's not on the inside? Outgassing from the plastics causes this.

I am sure. I can see the smears as I wipe.

You need a degreaser like IPA or an automotive all purpose cleaner. Could also try products made for tar removal like CarPro Tar-X or Stoners Tarminator.

I think you should clean both the inside and outside with CarPro Eraser and see if you still have this issue.

Under what conditions are you doing this cleaning? In a garage? Direct sunlight?

I also get perfectly clean glass using Adam's Waterless Wash.

You might also consider polishing the glass with Meguiars M205, that will get ANYTHING off.
