For me it happens in Sport+ throttle mode and 1st gear.
Given how responsive this car is in that mode, I'd say it's normal to need to take care.

People shouldn't take it personal when others say it's user error.
I'm probably making a lot of mistakes when it comes to this car... My goal is to learn to recognize them and try to correct them.
same here, I've learned how to modulate the throttle to not have this happen anymore even in 1st gear and Sports +

I just don't use S3/D3 anymore when in Sport Plus mode. Problem solved.

I had the same thing happen as well in S+ and D3 but figured it was my error. I switched my M2 settings to S+ and D2 and it hasn't happened anymore. D3 is just too touchy from a full stop.

Even in S3 you will learn that there is a way to not get that jerk, don't press on the accelerator lightly but give it some initial force then switch to a gradual press and it won't jerk

From a stop if you use slight throttle input, you hear the engine rev a few hundred RPMs. That'll help give you an idea of where your sweet spot is in regards to the throttle input that causes the "bucking".

Please help me out. When you play on S3 with the throttle the on/off game in a lower gear, do hab’s a pretty hard noise/Hit from the power train? It feels like a worn out driveshaft joint or worn out gears with to mc G Space between acceleration and rolling.

Thanks

Peter

That's the ///M badassery being baller. The fix is to put your throttle foot to the floor and hold it there until you see flashy lights in your rearview mirror. Then apply brakes and pull safely to the side of the road.

The attendant who arrives will chauffeur you to overnight accomodations, but warning: checkout will be kind of expensive.

But no worries because you'll still be smiling from the night before.

Hahahaha

Ok buddy.... make sense. If I can read between the lines you’d tell me that’s normal M and I don’t have to worry about it?

Thanks

Is there a YouTube link or a video on this? I have tried looking and have not been able to find a video of what is taking place.

BTW - good thing we don't have 911s or it'd be 208 pages long

I can't believe that the advice to remedy this behavior is the same on the 13th page as that was on the first page more than three years ago...

Mastery requires repetition.

This may have been said already but this is not just a DCT thing. It happens in the 6MT also. If the transmission is the held in the same gear and you suddenly jab the throttle (in Sport + especially) and release the gas peddle prematurely, it will jerk (and sounds a little odd also). I believe this to do with the way the turbo's turn off just as quickly as they turn on. You have to modulate the throttle as others have mentioned. You get used to it.

How recently did you do this? My car is a 2018 (Sept 2017 production I believe). It still exhibits the noted concern on this thread.

This is terrible advice! My MY 2017 was just updated to the latest November software without my consent and my DCT is totally messed up where it was perfect before. I have increased bucking, jarring noises from the trans and diff, and a huge buck on the smoothest d1 setting in first gear. If you have a 2017 or earlier car DO NOT update to the “newest” software!
