After 2500 mi, my rough average is 21 mpg.
On a short roadtrip to Vancouver BC, my short term average was 24 mpg. Mostly flat freeway. I hung around North Vancouver, where there are a lot of hills including where we were staying. Down to 15 mpg. A day in the city. 15 - 18 mpg. A day at the track. 9 mpg. |

My M4 is my "economy" car.
It gets much better mileage than my Porsche Cayenne GTS.

I came from a tuned 350Z and I was only getting 17mpg 30% city 70% highway.
With the M4, I've been averaging 21-22mpg easy, mostly driving in Sport / Sport +. |

I drove from Lime Rock CT to Lake George, NY today. On the highway stretch I averaged 74 MPH and 30.6 MPG.

The more I drive it, the more I have to put fuel in it.

I didnt buy the car for fuel economy, but I am still taken back by how bad it is. My friend who had a '15 M4 was getting 8-9L per 100km ( 26MPG? ) which I thought was good. I bought my '18 M3 CP a few months back and have been steadily getting 14.5-15L per 100km ( 16 MPG? ). I do have the M Perf. exhaust with lots of burbles and crackles in sport plus. Would that really have that much of an effect on the Mileage? Typically driving 30-40% in Sport- Sport plus and 70-60% in efficient.

Bought my car a month ago - F82 - Austin Yellow
First drive in it (apart from a test drive) was a long one: From Bolton in England to Portrush in Northern Ireland. At the end of that trip it averaged 39 MPG. Was super impressed!! Now I'm doing shorter trips and having some fun. Now the average is down to 26.9 MPG and still slowly falling. Hopefully will stop soon!!! The car has had what I think is called a "muffler deletion". Muffler removed and replaced with straight-through pipes - sounds awesome!! Wondering does that affect performance and/or fuel economy in any way?

I'm at about 19.5 mpg with city and freeway driving split. Also have a 2018 F80 CP. I'd venture to say you get on the throttle every now and then and your buddy had a featherfoot. Definitely not the exhaust that changes the mileage that much.. it's your foot. |

16mpg average with a heavy foot and virtually no freeway. I think this is actually quite good, matching my 46M exactly under the same conditions. My E90M3 under these conditions was about 12.5mpg.

Just drove 750+ miles fleeing from Hurricane Florence and then returning home (thankfully, no damages). We averaged just under 29 MPG for the trip which included a lot of highway but also some city driving.

I average around 21mpg. Got about 8.5k miles on the car and am a pretty reserved driver. This is my DD and I plan on making it last for as long as I can
