Every week to a week 1/2. It's therapeutic for me to wash my car. I love it.

I've owned a Space Grey and two Jet Blacks. My current Silverstone is a godsend of a color to take care of. I drove in the rain last night and my car looks like it was shined today. Lol. This color hides So MUcH more than any other color. And the way it plays with light just makes the car look clean regardless. I went two weeks once without cleaning and it looked fine.

More than anything though I clean my leather seats a lot. Maybe spray clean them with Zaino twice a week and THEN apply Zaino leather conditioner once a week. I have almost 8k miles on my car and my seats look brand new.

Every week. Dealership is on the way to work and offers free car wash. It is also my DD. Second M3. First one lasted 11 years and looked like new despite Chicago winters.

I don't know, but I do hope you were both not serious next time I bring my car for service, I'll have a "DO NOT WASH" taped to each window!
Back to the OP, once every two weeks!

I've only had mine for a month and I'm doing it weekly. It's not my DD and it's a raining weekend so I'm in the middle of a full Zaino detail. Clay, AIO, Z8, 3x Z5 and Zaino sealant. It's looking pretty sweet. I might tackle full wheel detail tomorrow.

I am serious and really stop by my dealer every week to have it washed on my way to work. Looks like new at 5,000 miles. My prior M3 got the same regimen at the same dealer for over 10 years and looked like new as well at 98,000 miles when I sold it.
I do not see what is wrong with that. No scratches or swirls for over 11 years on those 2 m3s. I had it waxed about once a year.
Just do not have enough time to wash it myself. I am ocd on my motorcycles however. I shave spent hours on washing those every weekend during riding season.

Dealer wash = swirls.... no doubt. I place a post it note that says do not wash and have my SA sharpie the service tag with a do not wash note on it as well.

I fully detail probably once every three weeks. Quick two bucket wash once a week. Waterless wash and quick detail spray in between.

Once a week if it's not raining that day or the day after. If there's rain then it is skipped until the next week. However, since it's a daily, it could probably use twice a week but time is so hard to find.

I, on the other hand, was not being serious. If you haven't seen the damage that dealer washes do, you haven't looked.

Sun sun and more sun where I live in regional Australia!
We are in drought again and there is no use of town water allowed outside at all and hence no car washing. This only leaves local car wash for anyone willing to give it a go
I must say that my mineral grey tends to conceal dirt really really well.
After 6 months of ownership I have had to go from washing at home every week to no wash now for 1 month. In desperation I may have to try the local car wash😡!
Oh well, the price you pay for living in the country but compensated by lovely long stretches of open highway driving😄.

I try to do once a week. Even if it's a quick wash before I go to work. The more often I clean it, the easier each wash is. But having a white car shows everything.

I quickly realized when I picked up my car in November 3 years ago that I wasn't going to stand outside and wash it all winter, and it's a lease. So I signed up for one of the unlimited wash deals at the local drive through wash 2 minutes from my house. I've been known to go through several times/week. Sure, there might be some extra swirls if I look close, but it's a lease, on normal viewing of the car you don't see any swirls and I always have a clean car.

I couldn't fathom washing only every few weeks.

Here where we live we have a large car wash chain. For $54.99 a month I get unlimited exterior, and interior (vacuum, Windows, and interior wipe). I've used this wash for 15 years and never saw swirls or whatnot. Now, my eye may not be as trained, the car being clean is very important (like the guy who said the car is an extension of him) and I lease, so the swirls (if there even there) is not that important to me if it means I don't have to wash it myself. I do clean the wheels myself twice a month.

I run the car through daily in the winter and 2 to 3 times a week in summer.

I'll usually pay for a full detail and wax once a year. I keep it garaged at home.

At least once a week. Now that I have a pressure washer, the most laborious part (the wheels) is now just spraying with wheel cleaner, letting it sit for a minute, then blasting with a wide angle nozzle... Foam cannon, then blast again to rinse. Even with drying it, it takes me 45 minutes.

So you paid the $5k to get a San Marino Individual (which looks absolutely beautiful, btw), and you're going to let it become a swirl fest? Please...I'm begging you...don't do it! Pay a Grand, get it paint corrected and coated, and hit it with a hose once a week. Anything but machine wash, have mercy.

I'm moving to a new apartment soon and the complex doesn't have a spot to wash cars. Should I waterless wash it (dunno what to do about the wheels) or just take it to an automated wash?

FWIW I have Xpel on the front cap and CQUK on the whole car. I'm willing to take it to the detailer once a year if it means no swirls.

I don't know what paint corrected means. If I actually thought hand washing the car would save it from looking like a used car after about a year, I'd do it. But I DD my car and it gets salty, rock chipped, and who knows what else. And I didn't pay 5k for San Marino, it's was more like 3k (61% residual), and the car was not sold at MSRP. To your point, if I could pay a grand to make it look new for 3 years, I'd do that, but I just dont the expertise to know what to do. Maybe I need to hire a property manager for my car?
