Still seems weird to not just run it until the next M3 is available. Lots of lost potential sales.
The issue appears not to be sales, but rather it's production. They'll need to switch production line from making F30 to G20 in 2018, so they'll no longer be able to make the F80's any more after the switchover.

The F32 production run follows the year after, thus the F82 can be produced into 2019.

So with end of production being Oct 2018, does that realistically mean the last of the brand new M3s will be delivered to dealerships towards the end of 2018 or early 2019?

My first post!

Break the iPhone mentality! Congrats on the car.
Great post.

I am breaking that mentality now. Admittedly, though, it took me a long time to get to this point. I had to try out all sorts of offerings from all sorts of brands. I feel I have a pretty good idea of what I like/don't like now.

Not, sure. Others might know more, but AFAIK, production begins in September and they need a month for production line setup. My estimate would be that the last of the F80's roll off the factory late July or so.

But as always, you never really know. They may extend production by a month or two.

That said, I doubt dealers will be getting new F80's in December 2018.

There is already a sticky on this subforum - EOP is October 2018 for the F80 M3.

When they say End of Production (EOP), does that mean dealerships see the last of them in that month? I thought EOP would mean end of the production cycle, so delivery of those finished vehicles would hit the showroom floors in November through January depending on delivery times?

I believe you are correct. Last one roles off line in October meaning last ones hit dealer conceivably in December and maybe even later for ED people

Regardless of what month EOP is, 2018 will be the last model year or will the last units be considered 2019?

As it says in the sticky, MY2018 is the end for the F80 (and F30). MY2019 will be the first year for the G20, while the G80 won't come along until MY2022.

Yes - per the Sticky - the last F80 to be built will roll off the production line in October, 2018. At some point thereafter, that same car will either be delivered to a customer or dealership somewhere in the world - the timing of which will depend upon its final destination (particularly if it requires a long trans-oceanic voyage to get to its final destination).

Stated differently - the last F80s built in Sept-Oct 2018 will hit dealer showrooms within the next 1-4 months afterwards (at least those that were not factory ordered and destined for a specific customer).
