JB4 interface version question

Question. I regularly update the JB4 Mobile Connect firmware update through the Apple, now Google Play store. I have never connected my JB4 via laptop, but I constantly see interface version updates on N54tech.com. Question is do I need to update this software as well if I never Connect the JB4 to a laptop?

No. You'll be fine with just the JB connect

I havent updated the laptop software in ages and only just to briefly look at the .csv file on a graph. The rest of the time I sift through the raw data file.
