Damn. Maybe I should finally install my front plate... I ran without plates for the last 16 years in MT, CA and then TX, and never had a problem, even if pulled over for other offenses.

As for our last m3. We did not have a front plate and got pinched by a meter maid in Minneapolis. We went ahead and put it on after that.

What did you configure. We deal with Dylan at motorwerks. Great guy. I think we have purchased 5 cars from that guy.
That's funny. I got a BSM M3 on silver 19's with exec pkg, lighting pkg, HK audio, adaptive suspension, full black leather, and manual transmission. I have been working with Tony, he also seems like a great guy. Was she able to get under MSRP?

We did well on the price. We were going to order and use a allocation they have and a deal fell through on this one so they dealt with us pretty good in order to keep the allocation for somebody. We traded in a 2011 335 x-drive - only had about 15,000 miles on it. We actually leased this one. First time I have leased a car, but the last three cars that she has been the primary driver have been traded in after 3 years with less than 20,000 miles. So we thought we would do this and save some cash. It seems like we trade cars every three years anyway. I really sod like being out o warranty o these things.

Now your plan to move it above the low point of the bumper sounds ideal -- please post pics when able and let us know your post-install satisfaction!

Can you elaborate - guess I am missing something but where is the space at the top of the lower mesh? Do you plan to cut out a section or....?

Yes there will be some modification performed. The bumper will probably be removed for reinforcement of the mount. I will post pictures of the process for all of those interested.

Look forward to it - I think your car will be back a week or so after mine based on your ED timing - might still try to use the USMillWorks option but agree that less 'cool' than the hideaway setup.

On that note does anyone know if USMillWorks have a setup that works on the M4 - think I saw a pic with one installed but their site does not seem to specify and I have yet to hear back from them on it?

It won't be on the bottom, it'll come out from the center where the mesh grill is. They'll cut out a small piece.

Guess it was actually the F32 I saw on their home page - still waiting a response from them re M4 application.

I guess for me those off center tow hook mounts looks worse than the standard center mounted plates. Just not a solution for me It totally messes up the feng shui of the front end. I would go with the magnet our hidden plate solution but only if the time comes that I get a ticket or two something I have not gotten in nearly 10 years driving without one in Texas.

F80 M3 is listed in the options on their website, both with and without parking sensors (see special note for sensors).

Such a shame! I wonder how much better it might look if someone like IND color match painted the mount plus a color matched plate frame to somewhat soften the appearance?

Ah - they list M cars under the 4-Series moniker - I was expecting a M category in this menu - thanks for the correction!

I PMed Andrew at IND about painted front license plate holders but, surprisingly, there did not seem to be any interest. Feel free to pile on IND.

hm, that seems like a lot of trouble just to james bond your plate ... maybe instead you could hire Steven Hawking to figure out how to dematerialize/rematerialize it? Quantum mechanics says there's only a probability it's actually there anyway.
