Top-level station preset list no longer available?

Hey guys,

I got a software update and I think something changed here...

Previously, my radio station preset list (consisting of a mix of AM, FM, and satellite stations), was able to be programmed on the shortcut buttons, and was visible in the HUD. Now, I can't seem to get that to work anymore, and when I go to the station Presets, it only shows the stations that are Preset within that particular mode (AM vs FM vs satelllite), instead of showing them combined together as it used to be.

Has anyone else noticed there? Or am I completely missing something?

Thanks

don't know if this helps ... but:

i have a 2018 F80. When I go to "Presets" via the steering wheel mode button and the HUD, it shows all my presets no matter the source (so it shows my AM, FM, and SAT stations all in one list).

I just got my break-in service done and my "Presets" still are correct in my HUD (shows all AM, FM, and SAT).

I looked in my iDrive version and it says:
MEDIA: MB-006.001.044
this was after the break-in service. not sure if they updated anything or not.

I haven't had my "Presets" get restricted to one source before, but I have noticed the HUD sometimes does funky stuff after using voice commands. Like if I use a voice command to play a song by an artist from my music collection, the HUD then only shows songs by that artist when i use the scroll wheel.

You can still program it. Just hold the desired button down when the selection knob is hovering over the preset “save” button.

Ok, I give.

I only see the manual list of ALL stations in my HUD. List is of All FM Stations or All SiriusXM Channels, depending on what band I am currently listening to with no way to change bands from Steering Wheel.

No presets anywhere.

How does one:

1) Access Presets from Steering Wheel

2) Change Bands from Steering Wheel

Press the Mode button on the steering wheel repeatedly. In the HUD, you will see it cycle thru AM, FM, SiriusXM, Presets ...

Mine only cycles between CD and Radio.....where Radio is the last band I was on....and why I asked the question

ie, if last on FM, my choices are 1) CD and 2) Manual Tune FM Band

If last on SiriusXM, my choices are 1) CD and 2) Manual Tune SiriusXM Channels

OK, try this . . .
In the center iDrive screen, go to the "Media" menu where there is a list of media sources (i.e. AM, FM, Aux-In).
Scroll down toward the bottom of that menu. There is a menu item to customize the media source list.
Click on that menu item and make sure that all all the media sources that you want to see in the list are turned on.

Maybe that’s just with newer NBT EVO units.

No Media tab. Just Multimedia.

I have NBT non-EVO but All ECU Software updated to July 2017 and nothing like that to be found.

Yes, yours is different.

If you click on the Presets menu item under Radio, won't that change your HUD list to Presets as well? I seem to remember that from my last BMW. I think that may be the only way to switch HUD Radio lists in your iDrive version.

EDIT: One addition to the above . . . Presets allows you to store 40 stations. So I always fill up the Presets and never move off of it.

Oh, that’s different than the 8 preset buttons on dash I thought you were talking about.

Never tried that. Will try later.

Thanks.

In case you're not aware, the 8 buttons on the dash are shortcut buttons that can be used for many iDrive functions (i.e. navigate to office, call my wife, etc.). They of course can also be used as shortcuts to radio stations, giving you 48 stations in addition to the 40 iDrive presets. However, those eight "shortcut presets" would not show up in your HUD radio list.

Good luck.
