"siriusXM will expire soon" (9 months early?)
Yesterday on my idrive screen the message "satellite radio sub will expire soon. Call 888-539-sirius to subscribe" popped up for the first time.
This has me confused, because the car is a 9/24/16 build, but it sat at the dealer until I got it 7/28/17. When I called Sirius the guy was completely clueless. He couldn't tell me why it was ending early (supposed to be a year sub, no?) I emailed my CA ...but he said to check with the genius. And I'm pretty sure he won't be much help either. Any idea what is going on? My subscription should run thru July 2018, no? thanks -

Provided you purchased the car new - and I'm assuming you did - I agree SiriusXM should run through July 2018. Reach out to the Genius and have them take care of it. Make them do their job.

sounds like they activated the dealer demo mode, which lasts for 3 months, but forgot to activate the new car mode during PDI.
Also sounds like this car might have been a dealer demo vehicle (i.e. sales manager drove it) which is probably why it was missed (essentially gets treated like a used car being resold rather than a new car being titled for the first time). Is this accurate? |

It had 400 miles on when I picked it up. So I guess it could have been a 'demo' of some kind.
I going to make a few calls ...the window sticker says 1 year of included service, so that is what I am going for

That said, most manufacturers treat the car as new from a perks perspective so you should still get the full year of XM. Warranty on the other hand started from its inservice date which is when the car was first titled by the dealer. Your state laws may vary so take my comments with a few grains of salt. Good luck. |

I had the same thing happen to me. I had to go back and forth between dealership and Sirius a few times (they each said contact the other) before it got resolved.

Had the same thing happen with the wifes 428gc. Finally after some back and forth the dealer just said buy the 1yr subscription, email us the invoice and we will cut you a check back which they did.

Looks like the dealer is just going to pay for a year of service, so I'll actually get 16 months total of service.
Sirius customer service was completely unreasonable. In the end I get 4 extra months, so I can't complain about that!
