Road trip suggestions from NY/NJ
Folks,
I want to take a week long road trip and head south from NY/NJ with the M and the better half. What do you folks recommend? I am looking to drive via Shenandoah, Smoky Mountains, Memphis and back. Any recommendations? Thanks. |

take 81, blue ridge parkway. in virginia stop by caverns, Nashville. you can stop by BMW perf center if you are in the area(not much to see but still if you are passing by)

couldn't agree more with blue ridge, also hit the dragon and the cherohala skyway the three of them are in a nice hundred or so mile triangle

Another recommendation for Asheville-Tennessee region in the mountains. Cherohala is the best road I've driven yet. Had it mostly empty first thing in the morning and really had a blast there. Well worth the trip.

OK! All set then. I will leave tomorrow. Will post the pics when I can. I have already been to Luray twice, so I may skip the skyline drive via Shenondoah, and hit blue ridge directly.

That was the only regret! I couldn't get to Cherohala. I underestimated Blue Ridge Parkway and spent like 2 days on it. I will do the write up and share some photos over the weekend.
