Body work shop in NYC?

Well, you won’t believe this. I was washing the car in our underground garage beneath our apartment building when an elderly neighbor ran into the front left of our car; I am glad he did not hit me. The damage is pretty significant, and while it is not on the right side, I think it is likely that the whole bumper will be replaced plus various other bits. As it is in insurance job, I was going to take the car to BMW Manhattan, but I think they don’t do their own body work anyway.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a body work shop in NYC?
I know several indies for technical repair/service, but I don't think they do body work.

Many thanks!

Take a drive up to J&B Auto when you get some time. Even if you don't have them do your car, it's worth it just to look around. They did my car and I couldn't be any happier. When you turn onto their block, you will feel poor. Our cars are shitboxes and we're lucky they work on them.

BMW of Freeport collision center. They use same equipment as factory. Ask for Justin.

I used them twice and the repair was perfect.

Just had mine side swiped yesterday... Driver side rear door and a little bit of the quarter panel. It's black and an insurance job as well so trying to get it perfect. Was thinking either bringing it to the dealer (habberstad) or going to a private place. I'm out of Melville. Any ideas? I've used toms auto body in halesite with success for a 2014 camaro but I want this to be as perfect as possible...

Also, I had ceramic pro applied to the car before the accident. Any chance insurance will pay for a recoating?

I highly recommend them as well. Hell, BMW of Manhattan take their cars to Highline Autobody. They have done amazing work for my previous car, and at fair prices too.

I'm actually more worried about turn around time. I don't want my car sitting in the shop for the entire summer

I just dropped my car off at MAC yesterday and then decided to read some reviews online... They are pretty terrible reviews and all the stories are fairly consistent...

Rips off insurance and sometimes has other shops do the work? I hope this place is as good as what was recommended.

Happened this morning.

I feel you mate..
I got a hit and run this morning while i was standing at the signal. (rear ended)
This jackass hit me and backed out then left the scene.
Well, that jackass was not lucky, i got his plate# and currently tracking down his car. (80% of his plate# is actually imprinted on the collision area)
I called a cop on the spot and filed a police report and claimed through the insurance. The insurance is also tracing his plate #.

Please can anyone recommend me a good body shop in Queens?

I guess i'll need a replacement of the rear bumper..?
Anyone can guess how much it'll cost me fix this one?

Any thoughts?!

Oh, by the way, that jackass plate # is NY GEB4421 (Subaru / not quite sure of the model, i think "outback")

I got the car back from Gotham and could not be happier! Their team did a phenomenal job and it could not have been a better experience, given the circumstance of an accident repair.

They are also M3 enthusiasts, so they share your OCD!

I totally recommend this wonderful shop!

Yeah..lots of idiot drive car around in NY...Cop needs to suspend their driver license..
Hopefully, you got her insurance and everything.

I'm going into Gotham collision center tomorrow morning to get a quote.
By the way, i caught that damn driver and i'm repairing the car under his insurance. I'm hoping that he gets points + kick out from the insurance company. crossing my finger.

Good luck to you too mate.

Not worth it getting heated! It's just a car!

Fix it up at the best shop possible and move on.

I hopefully am picking up the car today. It is scary looking at insurance company invoices. With everything listed about what the shop "took apart" and "put back together" makes me imagine that nothing will work the same or look the same again lol.

Definitely scared to go look at my black car with basically the entire driver side of the car replaced.

Jb's is number one hands down. Mac is garbage next to jb's. Tried both. The stament about feeling poor is correct. Bringing my 911 there I fell short near the 4 phantom's 2 lambo's 6 Bentley's oh I forgot the P1 and the 488 Ferrari. This place is insane.
