"NO SIGNAL" on iDrive

I was driving to work today and my music suddenly stopped playing and the iDrive displayed NO SIGNAL in large orange letters. I tried to snap a photo of it, but the system reset on its own and the music resumed about a minute after it happened. I haven't done any coding in the past 18 months.

This is the first time it has happened to me, but it appears to be common across a wide range of BMWs. TSB ID: SI B65 13 13 (BMW: some BMW models central information display (cid) are blank and display "no signal") instructs the technician to read out the faults with ISTA, and as long as E1C440 “Headunit Reset” isn't stored, they proceed with upgrading the car to the latest iStep.

Here's the TSB: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...57762-4150.pdf

Anyone here experienced a similar issue? If so, what was the fix, and did the fault return?

Seen this happen on very early build MY15s on both HU_NBT and KOMBI, most times software update would take care of the issue.

That's what I've got...Nov '14 build. SO what modules need to be updated to correct the issue? Just the two you mentioned or the latest iStep?

I'm assuming the car hasn't had an update since delivery (>3 years now), both will likely be updated during service. Dealers cannot target individual modules, only follow the path of what's reported needing updates.
