Southwest Bimmers in Las Vegas claimed they could install. Sent them link to this thread.

They are having no luck getting the unit operational.

Can anyone suggest a competent installer in Vegas area?

The screen turns on, then turns off which leads me to believe that the screen works.

Anyone recommend a competent Vegas Installer?

Do I still insert the AWRON Green/BLUE wire into my empty pin 3 slot?

But then where do I find the wire that was supposed to be in pin3? Is it in the other connector 8 pin 53 as shown above? or is it in Connector 10 still just in pin 7? If so where does the wire removed from this location go into the AWRON little blue 2 pin connector supplied? pin 1 or 2?

I even looked at AWRON's website instructions but there is nothing about this issue?? I can't believe there is this much confusion with install instructions.

Thanks, I see that but is the answer same connector 10 but pin #7 instead of 3 or the answer in post 77 that it is actually on connector 8 pin 53 that DJVOLUME also posted?

I was confused to which is the right answer for a ZCP?

Your details say you have a 440i?

Wiring changed slightly in MY18+. Look at CON8 PIN53 and tell me what color wire you have.

Thank You VERY Much!!
Last question...the wire I remove from CON 8 PIN 53 (yellow)...Does it go into pin 1 or 2 of the blue connector supplied by AWRON?

Should only be 1 wire in that blue connector (PIN1). Connect to PIN 1.

I thought of 1 more question before I have time to head out to the garage this afternoon.

Do I still put the AWRON GREEN/BLUE wire into Pin 3 of Connector 10 as in step below...or does it go into my Connector 8 that has the yellow wire in Pin 53 that we spoke of because its a ZCP?

33. Repeat disassembly steps for Connector 10 (CON10), removing PIN3 from connector housing. Insert GREEN/BLUE (MY15-16) or YELLOW/BLUE (MY17+) wire into connector housing. Insert removed wire into PIN1 of included BLUE 2PIN connector.

Wires should be routed as follows:

AWRON GREEN/BLUE wire >> PIN3 in BMW Connector 10
BMW GREEN/GREY wire >> PIN1 of included BLUE 2PIN connector

Note: Wire color has changed on MY17+, YELLOW/BLUE. Pin position is still same as previous models.

Also, I'm guessing that there may be a typo when it comes to color of the little AWRON plug in this step??
We used the BLACK 2 pin connector in a previous step...All I have left is a WHITE AWRON 2 pin connector??
There were 3 in the pkg WHITE, BLACK, and BLUE
Thanks Again

33. Repeat disassembly steps for Connector 8 (CON8), removing PIN47 (RED) & PIN48 (BLUE/RED) from connector housing. Insert (RED) wire from Awron harness into PIN47 and (BLUE/RED) wire from Awron harness into PIN48 of connector housing. Insert removed BMW wires into included WHITE 2PIN connector.

Wires should be routed as follows:

AWRON RED wire >> PIN47 in BMW Connector 8
AWRON BLUE/RED wire >> PIN48 in BMW Connector 8

BMW RED wire >> PIN1 of included BLACK 2PIN connector
BMW BLUE/RED wire >> PIN2 of included BLACK 2PIN connector

Well I finally got the install completed. Just wanted to put the outcome here to possibly help anyone else who runs into this issue because they have a ZCP (Competition Pkg).

It is correct that ZCP's DO NOT have a wire in Connector 10 Pin 3 , instead we have the wire (yellow) in Connector 8 pin 53 as seen in some pics above in this thread.

In addition to that we need to take the AWRON green/blue and put it into Connector 8 Pin 53 NOT Connector 10 pin 3 as stated in the original DIY for non ZCP.

NOTE THIS IS FOR ZCP ONLY!! Other than that the DIY is perfect.

A special thanks to Tom at EAS for his attempts to help me with my ZCP situation and putting together this awesome DIY thread, the instructions from AWRON on their site are not nearly as thorough.

This thread has helped me heaps on sorting out my install with my ZCP. Even Tom has been more than kind to reply to me even though I didn't get my Awron from him but my local dealer here.

I have a small problem now on my ZCP where it does not go into service mode automatically. I'm not sure if my wiring is wrong but if I set it to passive mode, it is able to detect my DME. I'm not sure cause everyone says it's supposed to do it automatically. But when I restart my car after that, it goes back to active mode. Is that how it's supposed to work?

E-Chassis is automatic, F-chassis is manually set. This allows the other non-can features to still function.

Go into settings manually and set to passive mode during service.

Followed this guide and the Awron works and turns on, but my navi screen, radio and climate control dont turn on. Also got a bunch of other errors, trunk wont open (battery is full and plugged into a charger) with keyfob or the button on the inside of the cabin. It's not in valet mode so thats not the problem. Instrument cluster says I have no gas when its a full tank, getting a system light error, hearing a loud blowing sound under the hood when ignition is on. Windows wont do their lowering and closing when you open and close the door, so the door wont close all the way or if I roll the window down the gap wont close.

The negative was disconnected for install, followed everything perfectly and all the connections were solid.

If there is anyone that can help me with any information that would be amazing.

Re-check your wiring and ensure the wires sit nice and tight before securing it back to the console.
