ok, I'm now in the outcasted v6 camp. That definitely sounds more like a v6 to my ears than an I6. I've been wrong before, but that's where I'm putting my money.

Thanks for posting! Damn, what hides under that hood?? I now understand what the German poster meant with that it sounds like a power boat. It sounds like straight pipes with no cats or muffler which I would assume is illegal. If that is with the full legal production exhaust there is a mean beast lurking there.

Just a power boat it's a bit too loud for my liking though. We aren't an easy crowd to please are we...

I'm not trying to be a hater but that first video made me cringe. It sounds like they're trying too hard to make a 6 sound deeper and meaner and it just doesn't work IMO.

BMW had me fooled for some time with that one

Since the sound of the 335i with Meisterschaft exhaust and the M3 test mule was so similar, and you have opened my eyes to the N55 secretly being a V6 (

I heard a M135i with the sports exhaust a few weeks ago. The sound on cold start was just awesome

And, Youtube videos seldom do any exhaust justice...
