M4 Convertible through-load rear seats

I see it as a standard option. On first glance I would think you can fold the seats through the trunk and put in a golf bag (just like a normal 4 series cv). Anyone know anything about this? I would think its pretty silly to put it in a 4 series CV and not the M4. Thoughts?

Not quite sure of your question. Are you asking if it is still standard on M4 cabrio? Yes, and not a silly question at all. Many manufacturers have to add extra bracing at the rear seat bulkhead to shore up the sportiest versions of their cars. And not just cabrios.

But not this car.

My question is can I put cargo through the trunk into the cabin? I can see I can fold down the rear seats. After you fold down rear seats the wind breaker becomes exposed, after that I am pretty stuck I don't see any way of folding the last piece down to get through the trunk.

On my current 435Vert and I think on the yet to arrive M4 Vert it is only open (as illustrated in a picture above) if the wind breaker is not there.
With that said, the wind breaker on my 435 has not seen ANY time behind the seat since we received it (yes I know not everyone has no use for putting people in the rear seats). In my old 328Vert without the fold down seats(just a ski slot)or a place to put it behind the seats, we would just fold it up and put it in the trunk??

We love the new fold down seat feature & the ability to pack the trunk easily with the top down now with the use of the new lift button.

that's me and yes once you remove the goofy wind thingy and throw it away you can load stuff through there. The E93 only has a ski sack load through but this car has a width you see in the pic.

Plus this car also has an easy load feature with a button on the truck lid - if the top is down you open the trunk, push the button, and the whole collapsed top lifts up so you can use the load through.

The link above aslo has a picture of that.... plus there's a ton of pics of the load through if you just do a

In the UK through loading is an optional extra, although in some places on the bmw site the option is listed as split folding rear seats

So, I'm at the Performance Center taking delivery of my M4 vert, and I can confirm that there is no through loading on my car. You can fold the seat back down to get to the wind deflector, but there is no opening through to the trunk. I had an E93 that did have a ski bag / load through area, but alas, the F83 does not.

Hey guys, looks like we're all finding that there's no load through despite it being shown in the official BMW Press Photos --- wondering if we need need to write in to BMW for an official explanation? Also, i wonder what's there?

I agree, there is def a discrepancy bc although the online manual / app shows that you can fold down for pass through, I promise that there's no passage in my car.

Wow. So it's not even a option? Is that true world-wide? If so, perhaps they've added extra bracing there instead.

Ok I just picked up my M4 vert Wed before our snowstorm...didn't notice the lack of the pass thru till I just read this post.
HOLY SHIT

We bought a 435 this summer and it has the pass thru, and I was assured that this feature would be on the M4 (I use it a lot in the 435)
BMW I am pissed.
Going to go after them for resolution for sure

I think he's saying that he did not specifically confirm during ED but has done so upon redelivery only to find no pass-through.

This is a huge bummer - it's one of the reasons I picked this car over a Boxster GTS. It's actually less functionality than my E93 ... a step backwards.

What's odd is that the press cars have it, the press materials have it, the manual shows it, but it didn't end up on the production line. I wonder what happened?

In any event, CiaranOB has written a letter to BMWNA and I'll post back what he hears.

We may all need to group together and ask BMWNA or BMW to retrofit our cars ... this is a huge miss and, to me, is WAY BEYOND any disclaimer.

So what's behind the wind deflector in your pic? A bulkhead?

I haven't taken re-delivery yet so I can't say, but every single 'vert (at least on these forums) is coming without the pass-through, so i'm assuming mine will as well.

I'm actually thankful I didn't check during ED because this would've seriously pissed me off.

Wow. That sucks guys. I was pretty close to going F83, and this would have been a major deal breaker for me.

Hope you hear some sort of resolution soon.

So having a 435 with a pass through-load and an M4 without, I have been studying what is needed to change it.....

1-Panel, partition, top # 51 47 7 293 945
1-Trim panel partition wall bottom # 51 47 293 946
1-Trim panel , bulkhead, interiors # 51 47 7 325 991
1-Insert,partition wall, middle # 51 47 7 363 430
1-Flap,theifproofing # 51 47 7 300 752

Don't ask me cost YET as I have not gotten that far...and all of the fasteners I expect to use over.

Will my dealer make any kind of reconciliation....????

Just like the wheel recall, we will have to wait and find out

Till next time
