By your logic, any new F8x owner should just come here and ask all of their questions, regardless of whether anyone has asked that question before. What's the point of a forum if not to archive previous discussions, both questions and answers. It's a source of archived information. New members need to know that they should search for their answers first, they're probably not the first person or the only person that has encountered some particular situation or had a particular question. Many have gone before them. A forum is collected information, newbies should learn to use it as such.

My M button usage had evolved over the last year (6mt):
M1 sport everything w Euro MDM M2 balls out, no TC (only for the occasional spirited driving) |

I applaud you for being able to drive with Sport+ steering with DSC off. Two occasions, while testing different modes in open areas, I was unable to correct drifts because of the steering weight. Comfort steering is much easier (and safer for me). Guess I should hit the gym.

It's very rare that I use the M2 settings - I just figure that should be full bore. I have more trouble keeping the back end straight

Had the car 2 days so keeping DSC on all the time. I'll move to MDM in due course.
M1 (Drive to work) Throttle: Sport + Steering: Comfort Suspension: Sport Transmission: D2 HUD: M DSC: On M2 (Drive to enjoy) Throttle: Sport + Steering: Comfort Suspension: Sport Transmission: S3 HUD: M DSC On I'm not sure I like confort suspension. While Sport is firmer, I prefer the rebound (or lack thereof). |

M1: Sport throttle, comfort suspension, sport steering, D2, normal HUD
M2: Sport+ throttle, sport+ suspension, sport+ steering, D3, M HUD Easy switch to manual when in M2, and I don't look like a D-bag when I zing the tach because I forgot it was in manual.

M1:
- Throttle: Sport - Suspension: Sport - Steering: Sport - Transmission: N/A - DSC: On - HUD: M View M2: - Throttle: Sport+ - Suspension: Sport+ - Steering: Sport+ - Transmission: N/A - DSC: On - HUD: M View I tend to drive mostly in Sport/Sport/Sport, so will probably just change the M1 HUD back to default as M View seems like overkill for stop and go traffic so it's a steering wheel button press instead of doing it from the throttle button. Reason for DSC On is I'd prefer to actually have to actively decide on MDM or DSC off when not on a back road or track setting. I'll probably code an additional driver profile where those are baked into M mode settings for convenience, so thanks for the tip! I'll also try out comfort for steering to see if I'd like to change it on M1. I haven't really driven much in that setting since the default is Sport. |

So many people in here not even using the nannies! I'm still scared to lose the back end into a retaining wall. I've had the car for about 6 months and it goes as follows:
M1: Sport throttle (downshift is a dream) Comfort Suspension Comfort Steering DSC On HUD M mode to watch RPM's easier 6MT M2: rarely used but for wasting money on tires Sport + throttle Comfort Suspension Comfort Steering MDM off HUD M mode HOLD ON AND PLEASE DONT CRASH mode
