The joy of creating animated Gifs!
Comparo of the 435i MSport to the M4, Mineralgrau colour, in larger image size and even interior ;-). For the exterior, note the much wider tracks and body changes because of that and the higher roof because of the CF double-roof. For the interior (M4 in Extended Merino Sonomabeige leather and dark chrome trip and CF inserts; 435i in Schwartz Dakota Leather and Aluminium trim and Individual Piano Lacquer inserts). Note the different Steering wheel (and of course seats with much bigger bolstering and seating length), and extended leather stitching for the M4.

That's interesting, I was just thinking that the M3 would look so much better from the rear if they had used an M4 'CSL style' trunk. I'm sure they had some reason and maybe its been stated already and I missed it. I can see your point though, maybe the flatness of the trunk top, on the M3, makes the flares look a little more prominent.

they did have a reason it was for aerodynamics. F80 didn't need it, its more aerodynamic than the F82 due to it's shape. I mean the flares are there, its awesome. I think the WOW FLARES stand out reaction is even more evident due to the traditional truck. It is very E46 like. csl type trunk imo at least, because looks are subjective, the rear fenders from the back view loose a little bit of that luster-- like the pokie look and for the M3 lovers, here is imo, the best picture capturing the flares (got them from another member on here) this is a bad f82 pic but imagine it w/ a m3 trunk, how much wider the rear fenders would look, the rear end looks really fat as it is, like a black chick wearing tights are the club got to keep in mind things contributing to the aggressiveness of the M3- smaller wheel gap, a 4 door slimmer looking configuration w/ aggressive M fenders (very coupe like flare out), and imo the trunk. The regular 4 series has a mildly arched trunk compared to the more arched trunk of the M4, so that can also contribute to the lack of difference between the two. Anyways, looks are always subjective. We are all going to be happy with our decisions at the end of the day, no matter what color or configuration we get. The anticipation is killing us, thats the problem! |

Love this comparo. Just shows how much more "inflated" the M3/M4 look. They are real beefy. Awesome thread!

Differences are subtle but very visible especially in the bigger pics (and even more obvious when we see the real cars): 1- The front/rear tracks are much wider on the M4 VS the MSport 2- The front diffuser for the M4 is completely different than the MSport and goes much lower 3- The Duck Tail makes the rear completely different (like the M3 and M3 CSL). Note that not only the trunk was modified, but also the rear quarterpanel because of the slope of the duck tail

A little bit trickier to do, but I believe very informative: M4 VS M3

M3 makes M-Sport 3 look ugly.
M4 and M-Sport 4 are pretty close. M3 wins over the M4 IMO.

loving the m3. the more well defined fenders and edges make me prefer the m3. the m4 is just too smoothed out for me, but both look great and look better than their normal counterparts.

After seeing this is am pretty happy with me 428i MSport purchase. Yes the M4 looks a little bit more agro but really its not all that different. My bitch is bad and once i get some performance parts on it it will be even more so!
