What are people paying for an M4 in Aus? (WTB M4)
Hi all,
In the market for an M4 - likely a low a KM used car. Anyone recently buy theirs, what are they actually selling for? With the introduction of the Competition model, The Pure model, and now the M4 LCI, it seems dealers are being quite aggressive on pricing with existing stock! There are several '16 comp models "advertised" for circa $130K, yet people are still asking $100-110K for a 2-3 year older '14 models that obviously have more KM, lower spec, and close to no warranty. Surely the prices of the first models have to come down! Thoughts? Last edited by dz89; 06-28-2017 at 11:40 PM.. |

I know you've mentioned M4 but I assume M3 trends are similar. I think with so many on the market, 86 M4s and 59 M3s it is definitely a buyers market.
I've been watching the M3 Comp prices and for 2016 low miles (~10,000kms) models they have been steadily dropping in price and are down to $120k but still not selling. I would find out what the trade in value is on the car you are interested in then work your way up from there. I was offered a car for trade in value the other day from a guy just because we got on. He was looking for +$2k but ended up trading due to the wait. Lowest price I have seen for a 2015 M3 with 49,000kms was $89k just prior to selling. Though I think you can expect to pay a little bit of a premium for competition pack models for some time to come. |

Depends on your situation really (buying cash, trading, financing) on how much you pay. I bought about 3-4 months ago a 14 M4 with 24k on the clock and it worked out on paper and 105k... but I traded which we all know costs you a bit.
I watched for a while and the 4's didn't seem to drop below 100 at any stage (one I bought ended up being the cheapest on the market at the time of purchase) as opposed to the 3's there was a few below 100. The other thing is kms are starting to creep up so finding the one you want with low kms and the right colour can be an arse... Surprising when you want one particular colour how few there are about, I wanted black... you'd have thought that wouldn't have been too hard but for the right one I did some waiting! Cheers, |

Yes, M3 trends are similar and usually priced around 10K less which is consistent separation with the brand new price of the M3 v M4 Would've been good to snap up that one you were offered, sometimes you just got to know the right person or be at the right place at the right time. There were a couple of M3s in the 80s recently including a YMB which ended up going to a dealer... |

Having just sold a black BMW, I think I'm going to opt for something different, Mineral Grey is my preference at the moment! And tossing up whether to go used or new-ish 90-100K for a 2014 with 20,000 km 130K for a 2016 comp pack, <3000 km |

$120k for a 16 with 10,000km seems like a very good deal.
There's one with M Performance goodies on it already too. I really wanted new, and the last iteration of the F80, so I bought a 17 LCI2. Had I wanted to save a few bucks though, the 16's are incredible value.

3 months ago a bmw dealer agreed to sell me a M4 - Nov 2015 model with just 4,000km for $112k
So I think you can get a decent M4 with low milage for under $110k now

I'm also in the market for a near new M4 Comp but advertised prices on Carsales appear inflated. I've also noticed prices creeping downwards on occasion. I'd strike a deal for an M4 Comp if I could get a 12-18 month old with <10k on the clock for <$120,000. Or am I dreaming? My timing for buying is late 2017 which should make the first Comp models around 18 months old me thinks.
Right now used Comp models are $135-$150 which I think is overpriced. Thoughts? |

You're in a similar boat to me then ^^^
I think just under $130k is achieveable at present, there's a few priced around that mark and with some negotiating you'd get it below. Obviously, they're only going to come down in price as time goes by... so late 17 might be a good time with the M4 LCI hitting the showrooms. For the extra 20-30k, a low km '16 comp pack seems a much better buy than a standard '14 |

Watched a standard M4 coupe at Crown Casino start up last night. My God, that car has got presence. To date I've been vacillating between the A45 or the facelifted Audi RS3; I've made up my mind now. With original owners (of the M4) copping ~$30k of depreciation for one that's 12-18 months old works for me. That's my justification anyway... |
