Windshield replacement

Has anyone had their windshield replaced in the GTA? Any recommendations on a quality shop that knows what they are doing on these cars?

With that gorgeous car of yours why take it anywhere but the dealer?

From what I understand, dealers use 3rd party companies do so this type of work such as Apple or Speedy.

Exactly. No dealer does their own glasswork, it's entirely outsourced to a local glass repair shop.

I've personally used a shop on Derry/410. It's been bought out by Amco but it's he same staff. Awesome work and prices over the last 10 years.

Just make sure they use the latest tools/cutter for taking out the windshield. Last thing you need is someone scratching the paint under the urethane.

The windshield on these cars are poo. They make it thin to save weight. I have a bunch of little pits in random places.

I just got a stupid crack on my car on my way into work today. Dealer does not deal with insurance - any idea who I go to in GTA that will do a proper install? Or do I go to the dealer and pay out of pocket? I was quoted $1327 plus HST from the dealer.

you are being robbed if you go to the dealer. Most, if not all dealers contract windshield replacement work out anyway.

There are a few great suggestions in this thread, depending on where you live in the GTA choose the closest one to you.
