PCD pulled ahead from Apr-24 to Apr-12. Individual M3! Keeping the color a secret but its one of the originals ;-)
+ One-day car control class on Apr-13! Anyone else planning to be at PCD on Apr 12 or 13? |

Picked her up Monday morning. The wait was well worth it as the PCD experience was definitely as advertised.
I LOVE the car!! Performance is amazing even under "break-in" period. My wife and I drove from Greer to Atlanta in nearly monsoon conditions so I'm really looking forward to stretching her out on the road home to Chicago in the morning! |

Can anyone comment in more detail on the driving portion of PCD? Do the instructors teach you how to drift or anything? I've seen videos of it, but they're mostly just videos of instructors showing off the cool tricks. Thanks

- braking exercise: designed to show you how ABS works, how you can steer while braking, & the importance of looking where you want the car to go. First run is to get up to about 25 mph, drive towards a curve, & slam on the brakes when instructor tells you. Do this a bit faster each time until you get up to about 50 mph before braking - handling course: take the cars on a curvy section of the track and do laps at progressively higher speeds (up to your comfort level). Sometimes this includes a slalom section to show you how the weight on your car will transfer - skidpad: shows off how well traction control works. An instructor rides with you as you go around the wet, polished concrete skidpad with DSC off. They'll show you how easy it is to lose control (you'll likely end up in the grass several times). Then with DSC on, you'll see how easy it is to keep the car moving without losing control. There's also the off-road portion in the X vehicles that I believe everyone does now regardless of what car you're picking up. Hope that helps.

The skidpad, depending on your ability, could be used for a little drifting. They won't teach you how to drift because of the limited time on that section. Can confirm that you'll get the X5 on the off-road course, regardless of what car you'll be picking up. Also, you'll get a tour of the X3/X4 factory (they started this back up for customers picking up cars back in March)

I'm tentatively scheduled for PCD on 3/15. It's been a while since anyone posted up about their recent Performance Center Deliveries and experience.
I was thinking of heading up to Asheville and into the Smokies to hit some fun roads and the Tail of the Dragon. Any recommendations are appreciated! |
