Hello fellow M owners. I call on you for guidance on an issue that's recently happened to me and my baby. I'll keep it short and to the point but I ran the car empty on accident. Wasn't paying attention to my gas gauge when I fired it up, walked away and let it run for about 10 mins before taking it around the block for a drive, still not noticing that my car was on E. Well that drive lasted maybe a mile before I was stuck on the side of the road left clueless as to what was wrong. I tried starting the car multiple times and of course it wouldn't start. After 15 mins of thinking, I stared at the dash and saw an empty tank ? finally got some gas from my brother and drove home but I had a drivetrain malfunction pop up and it hasn't gone away. I thought maybe bad gas? I put fuel injector cleaner and a fresh tank from shell in and nothing changed. Maybe the fact that I forgot to install my chargepipes with the o rings was the cause ?? I installed the o rings and nothing changed. And I cleaned my MAF and intakes. Nothing changed. My codes that popped up were MAF- too much air. I'm pretty sure that's due to those o rings missing and causing a pretty good boost leak. And misfires in cylinder 2-3. Well I didn't feel any misfires the 2 days after running the car empty but after installing my o rings and cleaning my MAF and running fuel injector cleaner, I have a really bad hesitation in 3rd and 4th gear from 7k- redline. Sometimes it doesn't even go any higher than 7k for a second and I'm afraid to keep WOT so I let off. Any ideas? Tomorrow I'm changing the spark plugs and maybe the coil packs if that doesn't solve the issue? Any help is appreciated. Oh yea. I'm running an injen intake, VRSF catless DPs And chargepipes and no tune yet if that helps. Mods are relatively new(1-3 months old) on the car.

I would also check the throttle body pipe for coolant leak.

Ok I'll take a look when I get home. I'm gonna try to clear the codes after the new spark plugs are in and see what happens

I would start by addressing this first.

Change your spark plugs, gap them correctly, go over your charge pipe installation again, and most importantly, GET A TUNE.

I'm getting a tune early January. I reset the codes and moved the coils that were misfiring around. Still waiting on my shipment of spark plugs to come in as well as a thin wall spark plug socket. The hesitation has gone away but now I am having what seems like power loss or really bad turbo lag in low RPMs. Like around 3k-5k and then when I get above that, the car really seems to give me the full power I'm used to. Any thoughts?

Your DME may have gone into fail safe mode due to the numerous error codes caused by decreased back pressure with the catless DPs installed. You definitely want to get some sort of tune to address this sooner rather than later.

Ok I might go back to OEM downpipes until then and hopefully that's what's making it feel like that. Almost feels like it's not building boost until about 4K RPMs
