I have a better idea for you W///. Spec your car with the CF trim, then sell it on the forum and use the money to buy the alcantara M-Performance trim (..and steering wheel).

You know what, that's a pretty good idea too! It would kind of go with the theme I'll be going for. Always a bad sign when you've got a full mod list of ideas when the car is probably still a year out

Does anyone know if items CS and CSAT are different?
I just noticed that some cloth seats do have carbon fiber in the back of them while some don't. Is the CF part in the back of these cloth seats CSAT or are they aftermarket? |

Not yet, but I read somewhere that a member is going to be taking delivery of his in a week or 2.
These seats remind me of Porsche's seats in the 911R, but not as in your face with the pattern. So cool:

With any BMW interior, the first two characters (CS in this case) are for a type of interior upholstery and the last two (AT) are for the color. In the case of the carbonstructure cloth, it's available only in anthracite (AT).
Theoretically, BMW could offer the cloth in other colors, so you might end up with CSDA, which would be carbonstructure cloth in Sakhir Orange... |

Let the plebs have leather
Did y'all see GT episode 11, specifically conversation street? They confirmed what we speedcloth insiders already knew; the too hot/too cold leather seats were for the driver as they are hard wearing, while the lord and his lady got the fancy cloth seats in the rear to keep their butts protected. Nice.

I thought I would be leather for life until I got carbonstructure for my M3. I dunno... I might be carbonstructure for life now!

I like cloth in general for the advantages already mentioned, and I think the F8X cloth looks nice on the seats and will probably hold up well. However, there's a disadvantage of the F8X cloth option that I don't think has been highlighted and might be overlooked on a quick visit to the dealership... It includes a section of cloth on the doors above the armrests. The same roughness that helps you stick in your seat is less pleasant when your arm brushes against it. I think even leatherette on the doors would have looked and felt less cheap. Despite that, I would still consider the cloth.

Here are the first ones I have seen. They look great. Beautiful color on that car too.
