Interesting - definitely seems like:
(1.) The new Munich cars are fully painted frame and body, individual or no That is, this IM SMB, Arcades's IM grigio, and Wah's beater Sakhir civic are all fully painted. We can even notice new tagging where Butty45's simply says "IPP process" which I take to mean Individual Paint P[german-something] (the other option is doesn't mean that at all), thus the frame was not separated from the body for painting. In Munich, the full car gets the full paint. versus (2.) My Regensburg M4 vert, separately painted frame and body 3 years ago it appears and I was told it was hand painted, this year's car definitely looks robo-painted ... and in both cases the frame was painted separately from the body. To add some new info, OP's car from 2015 was painted in Regensburg and did get the full enchilada, however his new 2018 car, that was also painted in Regensburg did not. Seems like it was luck of the draw, or more so luck of which German dude painted your car back then.
