Unfortunately not at this moment but more shops are constantly reaching out and inquiring on details so things change on that front almost daily.

UIF is still a 'thing' yes. Dealers have their ways always but its unlikely anyone there would know what a UIF even stands for You can always flash back to the factory TCU flash as well.

To me as a consumer its not so important how to swich maps or to have mobile functions, the most important thing is that your OTS stage 2 map is quality and how that power is spread over the curve. ☺

No, its a mini computer running our OBD Agent software that connects your car with the bootmod3 cloud. Its a laptop replacement in the car that can be hidden out of sight. Helps especially when doing WOT pulls as you don't have to worry about your laptop sliding off the seat when you hit the breaks or at the track making a corner while datalogging or say running the Live Dash.

Another expense for those who do not take their locked DME out and install back by themselves is the labor to a shop. The place I am going charges $160 for this.
That's the pricing when the car comes to our shop here and has the DME pulled or if the DME is mailed to us. Its also suggested pricing to unlock dealers but its best to contact them for pricing directly as it may vary.

Yes. Everything is done via the mobile app. Laptop/device just run the OBD agent software which is the same for both.

Very understandable. If warranty is of primary concern we suggest not modifying at all. Every tune and hardware modification out there is on pretty much equal footing when it comes to the powertrain portion of your warranty.

Pretty sure it relays data to your phone device right? Android only at this point.

Does that mean the box would be useless for iPhone owners at this point?

I don't think this question was answered

Sorry for the ignorant questions:

DME = ECU?

Can somebody compare this to the Audi tuning world for me? I used to have an OBD Flash tune (Stage 2 + pulley). It had a few different maps (stock, 93, race). Is bootmod3 just the vehicle (excuse the pun) to run another tuner's maps? If so, why doesn't the tuner come up with that too?

Still interested in doing the round 2 beta but are there any e85 OTS maps available? How much e85 are you able to run?

Local reputable shops are charging 400 bucks to remove and replace the ecu ... that's not even for unlocking just removal and reinstallation

Android only at this time as far as the mobile app is concerned. Device simply relays info to the app and doesn't care if the app is running on iOS or Android.

iOS app is pretty much done. Its the same as the Android app. The only missing piece is ability to upload new files/maps without which you can't load a map into bootmod3's cloud.

DME = Digital Motor Electronics = ECU

All the features of bootmod3 are listed on the product page including canned (OTS) maps. Loading 3rd party tunes is also one of them.

E85 beta OTS maps are available and are in constant testing. We haven't seen limitations so far up to 575-580whp on full E85 without blending on the S55. People in beta haven't pushed so far past that with full E85 so limits aren't known yet. This power was made at ~21psi from what we recall on a Pure Stage 2 S55 DCT car.

Pricing will vary out there but 2.5 hours if you go by the book for re/re on the S55 DME without considering unlock work.

His point in mentioning the Pure turbo's E85 success is because if it's possible on aftermarket turbos, it's even more imaginable on the stock turbos, which will require less fueling needs as compared to the Pure turbo setup.

Nice, does this mean datalogging is native to the box and logged onto the box and can be later retrieved by an android device. Or does the android device need to remain on and connected.

Got shipping confirmation over the weekend already. Very excited for this. Too bad car is going to the dealer for warranty repair work tomorrow, but will be making an appt with SSR as soon as the car is back.

I just learned that this is called "bootmode" not bootmod "three" for a while I was wondering what happened to 1 and 2. Now the name finally makes sense.
