"Unpublished" upgrades from the original MY2015 to today's model?

Aside from the obvious changes like headlights, is there a list of changes that have been done to improve the quality, handling or performance of the car with the 2018 version vs the original version of the F8x?

Little change I noticed from my 2017 M4 to my current 2018 M4 is the turn signals, before, if I press it, it wouldn't click but just activate the turn signal, putting it back to the off position was a bit tricky because if you press up or down too much, it would activate the other side turn signal, now it clicks and sits in that place so it's easy for you to know when it's in left, neutral, or right turning signal mode.

This is undocumented anywhere, it's just one of those little tweaks.

Performance feels the same to me even though I had the non Competition Pack M4 vs the Competition Pack but don't take my word for this yet as I'm still in the break-in period.

The lights though are super cool, the way the turn signals illuminate and even when the lights are just on, it looks so much more aggressive and futuristic.

Revised bedplate.

Edit: just realized you asked about unpublished changes. Don't remember if the bedplate revision was published or someone did some digging and figured it out.

Can you provide any official detail described this revision? Was always curious what this entailed.

The bedplate is the bottom half of the crank case that holds the bottom half of the main crankshaft bearings. Item 6 on chart below:

Thanks. I know what a bedplate is as it relates to these motors. I was just curious what was actually changed.

Sure, but this forum isn't just about you, so I provided some general info for those that might not know and included a link for you to read through all of the speculation yourself.

Net-net: BMW isn't saying, but lemetier says:
The strengthened bedplate was to insure component integrity on the OEM higher performance variants (it is a harmonic vibration under certain conditions when more Torque than the original certification amount is exerted through the drivetrain).

As the part is interchangeable with the old version, all S55's regardless of performance level have received the update because there is no reason to produce two versions. It also eliminates the risk of the old part ending up on a CP, CS, or GTS.
Sounds good to me. So the answer to your question is: "strengthened (to reduce or eliminate harmonic vibration)".

Not sure where I insinuated that this forum was solely for my own personal benefit, so I don't understand why you would open with that but either way...

thanks for the info, although I'm pretty sure this isn't specific to just 2018 models as the original post is asking.

It is not? I do not remember seeing that in the paper work for the 2018 M3s. I thought the contrast stitching on the non-full leather (plastic like) dash is new this year for the 2018 M3. I notice that you are not in the US maybe your 2017s has it since you guys number the years differently? Or maybe not. Just have not seen a non full leather 17 M3 in the states with the stitching. Would you mind posting the publication? Want to see if there are any other goodies in there

Me too, but I'd expand it to all things that are different even if it's in the configurator. For example LEDs, yes in the configurator, but also different than the originals. Seems like we get bogged down with LCI-this or CP-that, but I'd like a list of everything that's new or different between 2014 and 2018.

I'll start

* Bedplate - strengthened to reduce/remove harmonic vibration.
* Turn signal - now clicks into place for L or R position

Don't forget the super important chrome rings around the window switches and rear air vents.

Also, the display in climate control is now white LED in daytime.

I actually am not a fan of this change at all. I really like the "return to neutral but your turn signal is still on" way and thought it was a cool difference from every other car I've owned. But to each their own.

Not new, I know this has been the case at least on M3s since MY16s came out.

Black M inserts in the seats. They used to be silver prior to 2018. Not super exciting but a change none the less.
