all i am saying is that big V8 push rod single cam motors are easy to work with and gain power cheaper. |

A heads/cam/bolt-ons Z06 will make just under 600whp on most dynos on pump gas. A cam/bolt-ons LS3 Vette will make just under 500whp on most dynos on pump gas. As a side note, I wouldn't FI most factory NA cars unless I was made of money, just IMHO. Quote:

S65 is great engine no word, but I absolutely sure that s55 won't be just tuned n55-n54, it would be much better overall, faster, safer and better sounded car anyway.

i read a early review on the car, and they said the M4 sounded like the 335i. just wait http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...st-ride-review "The M3’s exhaust note is deeper and louder than that of a 335i, but not radically different. It sounds most distinctive during gearchanges, when the engine emits a hollow burp on upshifts and staccato brap-brap-brap on downshifts" |

Therein lies the problem. No one has been able to flash tune an F series ecu so far. BMW did this on purpose. Also, I wouldn't be the first in line to increase boost on a vehicle already running 18lbs right out the box, with some pretty aggressive timing no doubt!

So far it's looking like a tuned N55, with two turbos, and a stronger crank/pistons. Far from what an N54 is.

not really he thinks the car "wont sound the same" when i just proved to him it will.
if you analyze what i quoted. they said the most differences are when the car is shifting. making that all some fart noise. (sarcasm). both of them are 3.0L I6, one has more air going through it. |

So what we can establish is the following:
-The F8x will have a I6 sound track -The E9x has a V8 sound track -The 335i has a I6 sound track -The 550i has a V8 sound track -The E46 M3 has a I6 sound track -The E39 M5 has a V8 sound track I hope no one comes here and says that the E30 M3 has a I4 sound track, because that would be a big revelation... Allmost as if someone told us that a violin sounds like a violin and a guitar like a guitar... But that they can make very different music while still being recognized as a violin and guitar respectively... To me the sound in this clip is clearly I6 but not similar to a 335i: |

A little hint: When your source says it sounds "most different during..." that means it doesn't sound the same. Sound the same means there can't be any "most different" in there anywhere |

A 911, 928, 944, Ferrari FF, McLaren F1, Aston DB9 (or even DB5) wouldn't be a sports car by your definition... BTW, a BMW i8 would be a sports car but none of the current M cars would be classified as sports cars. Theyd rather be called sport sedans. |

"..not radically different" still means different, it can only do so much as it is still an I6 "deeper and louder" "most distinctive" |

But the 5min video from Ascari I posted on the previous page is probably the best sound clip we have so far. Does it sound "the same" as a 335i or doesn't it? A guess: Ezio: It sounds exactly the same as a 335i only it's slightly different... Or perhaps: it sounds even worse than a 335i... Last edited by Boss330; 12-26-2013 at 11:23 AM.. |
