The 2nd gts came to Bangkok yesterday (actually I think it slept at the port for some time earlier)

But hey it's the last one here since BMWTH has 2 allocations. First one was delivered months ago.

I think there are more than two. They had a new Frozen Dark Grey at Millennium Auto on Rama IV earlier this month and Sapphire Black driving into the Paragon. Thought about it picking it up, then the wife reminded what happened the when I owned a Cayenne a few years ago. 800,000 baht is the most I'll ever spend on car in Thailand again. Honda Jazz all day every for Bangkok traffic.

BMWTH announced they had only 2 and all sold. There could be more on road but I think it's from private import.

Private import would not be surprising. A lot of the Gts left over from US dealer lots have ended up and will keep selling on the grey market in Europe and/or Asia. I have seen them advertised on European sites last week. €200,000+ there, $130,000 here, which one would you buy?

Taxes on a privately imported car are ruthless in Thailand. Unless you are well connected with people in the government, you're probably looking at a $500,000 GTS depending how the import official feels that day. Grey market imports for new cars are a difficult and expensive proposition in many countries. Used cars on the other hand......

I've bouncing between Asia and the Middle East for 9 to 10 months out of the year since 2009. I've settled with Thailand being home while I work aboard due it's central location, it being cheaper than Singapore, the fact that binge drinking and bad dancing is life.

Hope you like Thailand. There's a lot of problems here and Thais are weird some time. However, we have many good things too
