Added An X3 M40i To The Stable

Picked up this little rocket this morning for the wifey. She wanted something smaller than her X5--although I know I will be curious about the new X5 this summer or the X3M. I purchased the 20" BMW winter set which look great as I ordered the summer 21"

You guys have a really bad car addiction. You probably have your auto insurance agent on speed dial. My bet is you’ll have a different car in the stable by fall.

Haha...actually I have to cool it for a while b/c my FICO is taking a beating with all these short term purchases! This latest addition makes 5 in the past 2 years!! Then again, my recently closed Jag account likely wasn't reflected in this last credit pull, and once we payoff the X3 in a few months (have to keep the BMWFS account active for 4 months in order to take advantage of the $6k in incentives I scored), my score will likely rebound and I'll be at it again!

Honestly, I had/have reservations about the size compared to our X5, but then we both desired something smaller, more sporty--better handling. Supposedly, the G01 has grown and the cargo utility is actually larger than the F15--I thought I read that somewhere? However, visually in person (these pics don't capture the size difference), the X3 looks very small to our previous X5 M Sport, and has a much obvious less aggressive stance. I'll miss those meaty rear 315 tires!!

You and me and our preference for silver wheels!!

Haha about the wife. She didn't even want to drive it off the lot! She says I make her nervous when I'm in the car and she drives.

Do U think the x3 can accommodate 2 babyseats and an adult in the back?

An SUV is in the wife's future as well and this is my first choice. Unfortunately she doesn't share the BMW love so slim chance my garage mirrors yours.

Did you get the crappy steering wheel?

I'm thinking that might be a bit tight. The rear seating is likely similar to your Macan, or perhaps slightly larger, no? Then again, I'm not a good judge on babyseats, as my wife and I only have German Shepherds!

Unfortunately, yes...but I have something in the works from Corporate given my history with the brand
And apparently those of us early adopters get shafted again, as this spring, an M differential will be standard.

Thanks. Haven't done much driving since taking delivery yesterday. I don't want to get it dirty after spending yesterday afternoon cleaning it myself! I asked the dealer not to touch the paint in order to avoid the n/c swirl marks

I just realized this was you! How's that beautiful SO M3ZCP treating you? Hopefully, well.
So really, the M3 didn't convert your wife to drink the kool aid?!?

Still loving every minute I get to drive it, which admittedly isn't much these days. Forced myself to go out in the rain a couple of Fridays ago when it was in the 60s. Washed it yesterday and taking a ride today. Should have taken you up on the winter wheels!

After I spent part of the holidays replacing my oil filter housing + cooler gaskets + charge pipe (and still have some slow leaks from the pan) on the 335 she's not so fond of the brand. Can only say 'you have to pay to play' so much!

Glad to hear you are still loving every minute! Try not to obsessive about the weather. Life is too short--enjoy it! Besides, I had that thing out in everything!! I sold the winter wheels shortly after our deal.

As for your wife and being upset about the reliability/maintenance of BMWs, do I have stories for her about Jaguar...
