In short RAF pretty much saved Britain. If Goering and his Luftwaffe had succeeded in his plan to eliminate RAF ( with no air cover the Royal navy would be sitting ducks ) and then the invasion would surely have followed where German tanks and artillery would very likely have steam rolled England.
Coupled with Goering and Hitler's incompetence in how they used the Luftwaffe during the blitz. They could see the radar towers and I think they attacked them once, maybe twice. They didn't understand how effective they were using it to intercept the Luftwaffe's attacks.

And then you had Hitlers constant insistence on bombing London etc. Had they stayed with the mission of attacking the RAF bases and destroying them they might have succeeded.

That is one of the many reasons (top leadership incompetence) I don't think it is a forgone conclusion that the Germans would have been able to mount such a huge operation. Especially since they had virtually no experience in doing one like Operation Sea Lion.

What if the Spanish Aramada never attacked England? We would have a very large faction of people (maybe even me) asking why they didn't do it as they would of for surely succeeded, right......well we know how it actually went down.

The fog of war is real and nobody ever really knows how an operation is going to go until it is in progress or over. I always liked Mike Tyson's quote "Everyone has a plan 'till they get punched in the mouth."

I was also thinking of the MB E63 AMG wagon, cause 600+ hp wagon but it's just too ugly. The E60 M5 Touring on the other hand, WAY cool but no longer on sale...
1. I was gonna mention the stereotypes of the car, but I figured, why penalize the car for the type of driver it attracts?

2. Yes, they are too common right now... BUT, in 50 years, when you open a barn in Nebraska somewhere, and find under an old dusty car cover, a pristine 2017 Ford Mustang GT350R with only 3000 original miles on it... tell me then it was too common to be a classic.

3. No fucking wagons will ever be cool. Ever. Too many wagon lovin' weirdos in this thread.

Talking about cool cars, do you think there are any properly cool cars on sale today? I can't think of many if any. Desirable, fast, beautiful, brawny yes but properly cool?

I think this is a pretty cool "her's" car and have tried to pitch it to my wife:

I think there are quite a few cool cars for sale today and it is generally a great time to be a car nut. It is in the same department to me as what people think is a really nice looking car. They are both personal to the person as to why they think they are nice looking or cool.

Now, had you said there really are not that many interesting drivers cars available today, I think there is a bigger debate to be had there. I don't think there are too many of those anymore sub 80k. But, that is personal to the individual as well.

Who are you and where is my bestie? You hacked his account, or locked him in to some basement right? I totally get it, he was annoying at times! So if he is in some basement, remember to feed him and give him dental floss at times.

Oh, and tell him i said hi!

That car looks like every French actor ever! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/G%C3%A9rard_Depardieu

Anyway, as (((myzmak))) correctly captured, my original post was partly about the war and Sun Tzu - and partly about how just kick-ass Iron Maiden was.

Certainly in the early 80s that was what I listened to. I was that kid complete with long stringy hair, leather jacket and a big Iron Maiden patch on my back. Plus I played bass and sang in a band and covered a ton of their songs.

At the time I liked the energy of their music and the quality of their riffs, harmonies and musical change-ups. I also thought Steve Harris was damned impressive as a bass player. Prog Metal? They kind of were.

But more than anything their music had so much damn energy. I covered Hallowed be thy Name countless times. Damn fun song to play. The instrumental back half of this song (starting around the 4 minute mark) just felt so kickass.

Judas Priest was also big at the time. If you were into metal you were supposed to like both bands - but I just HATED Priest. Their tempo was so much slower it was just boring to me. Plus they just sung about stupid shit whereas Maiden's songs were actually about stuff. I called Priest "sludge metal". I still don't really understand why people lumped those bands together (other than the obvious - English, Metal, early 80s).

This all has me thinking about sexual harassment.

Or maybe it's because while I'm surfing the forum I'm taking my corporate sexual harassment training. Whatever.

Anyway my point is, now that I'm trained, I think I'm going to be pretty good at it.

Sure, if you're a normal you might try to fancy things up with a tie, but that's so wal-mart.

Ballers wear bitches.
