Several posts ago, I saw someone mention that BM3 has better resale value. I lease my car and am considering this and the JB4 (which I run currently on my M5).

I assume there is no ability to resell the BM3 correct? I read that the license is tied to the VIN. Will they remap a license to a new VIN if I decide to get rid of the car and sell the BM3?

The JB4, on the other hand, can be sold no problem.

Thx

That is correct. BM3 is an ECU flash and cannot be resold.

I believe that member was referring to the $300 agent device by PTF that can be resold. But yes the license and flash stay with the vin.

You should be able to resell the license from what i know. But maybe PTF can chime in on that.

PTF is really ahead of the game, the license can be resold too.

Correct, this has been confirmed. They confirm you flashed your car back to stock and it unties from your VIN.

You can resell your license as well as device and your amazon ENET cable. They mentioned this a number of times. The only flash I know that will do that.

Oh sweet arse I thought only the agent was resell-able. I'm glad I was wrong.

I'm considering it. Any idea why that graph is showing 35-37psi? Am I reading this wrong?

Can't see the data on mobile but likely deduct atmospheric pressure (~14.7 PSI) to get actual boost.

This. That's how the ECU reads it, boost is additive over ambient atmospheric.

You have the option in the app to let it read and record Relative pressure rather than Absolute pressure. This way you won't have to deduct 14.7 everytime. Makes it easier to read datalogs, IMO at least.

Gotcha. That makes a lot more sense than 37 psi.

+1

Just to be specific, it actually deducts your ambient pressure which may not always be 14.7

Is there any way we can switch from stage 2 to e85 map without reflashing ? Let's say offline mode or something ? Been wanting to get the e85 upgrade but rather not flash back and forth.

We're exploring some options but no ETA on it unfortunately. For now you could accomplish that with a backend flash for an E85 blend and a JB4 on top where you run in say map0 or 4, flash only, when no E85 in the tank and then map6 with higher boost when you have E85 in there. Maybe double check with BMS if they have a map where boost can go higher based on ethanol sensor input like for instance with meth. Might be worth looking into..
