Personally I dont think it sounds fantastic. I also don't think I would like an exceptional car that always sounds loud. It embarrassing. The original exhaust already has a muffler bypass valve. EVC is the way to go. Stock sound with grunt when needed and loud when it's a drive day.

I kind of wanted to look into an Akrapovic exhaust for the 2014 335i M-Sport, but the BMW dealerships down here only certify Dinan and their own M Performance exhausts. Kind of makes me want to stick with Dinan. For anyone who lives in Georgia, a dealership told me that they will actually not void a warranty if you buy an exhaust (they didn't specify whether or not it was a full cat-back or not) and they install it themselves. Anyone heard that one before?

Dinan provides their own warranty. Their E46 muffler with fake tips killed them for me. Very hard for an exhaust, especially axle-back to be proven the cause of other issues, as would be required under the Magnusen-Moss act.

I know Dinan provides their own warranty, but I can still take it to the BMW dealership if it gives me problems. That's what I meant to say. Does anyone know of any regular BMW dealerships in the Southeast that sell non-BMW performance exhausts and will also stand behind them?

Most dealers will not void warranty for cat-back, and the ones that did could be overruled by NA. They have no negative effect on engine/vehicle operation. They are simply a path for the exhaust to exit.

A lot of dealers wont even mess with you if you are catless. Just the luck of the draw, but cat-backs are a 99% safe bet.

Time to follow some european countries! BMW and Akrapovic works together and Akrapovic is sold at dealers exclusively and does not void any warranty at all.

BMW dealers can only sell and back BMW parts per BMW.

Yeah well 2 BMW dealerships back Dinan work they do. They have their Dinan logos all over the place inside and out.

Have you listened to the car pull away from the outside?

It is horrid sounding at low throttle openings and idle. It sounds more like a diesel than my F10 535d did. BLAH!

But it sounds pretty mean when you're on the throttle hard. Let's not fool ourselves, though, it's a terrible sounding car except when you're romping on it.

Those exhaust tips look like they're very high quality. I think that's the most expensive looking exhaust I've seen yet on a BMW.

This car sounds so underwhelming and just overall bad. The farting sound is nauseating at best. Yes it's a beautiful car, and reasonably fast, but the whole active sound band aid is embarrassing to me on top of the price of this car. Jaguar F type it is as BMW disappoints anymore.
