Lol at the Prius owner talking about wheels on a performance car

Not to mention there is a 19" option.

not to mention they look hideous, the 18" 219M's on the E92 were very nice.

These are a joke IMO

Admittedly the 18s on the F80 do appear a tad small (compared to the E90 with 219Ms or 260Ms) but with a drop may be alright, hard to tell until we see on the street pics.

Nice pics thanks for sharing! Who was responsible for selecting the dancers!

My guess is that the wheel gap is more to blame than the size of the 18s - which is what is probably making them "look" small. The M235 suffers from this as well - at least in my opinion.

19 and a slight drop would probably cure the ills for most who don't like the setup in the pics.

They actually went through all that (1 full hour) before revealing the cars.

Congrats to the marketing agency, they successfully made the cars look cheap.

This is an M event. Having half naked chicks dancing around for an hour might work for riced out civics at car shows to attract hormone raging teenagers.

Clearly your ethnocentric values of marketing are not universal across the world.
As mentioned a few posts above, East Asian culture uses women for entertainment & to project the image of trendiness, youthfulness, desirability in products & services. Thus, for starters, they are more objectified in Asia vs. in Europe or North America. Of course such objectification is less politically correct on a professional level in the West, but in Asia, this is how it is & the usage of women in this way is highly prevalent and socially accepted as the norm.

Have you been to Taiwan, or anywhere in East Asia for that matter? Electronics/games shows, car shows, bars/clubs, trendy restaurants, shopping malls/fashion, and all sorts of venues use similar methods of having young ladies promote by dancing/posing/catwalking to garner coverage/attention and project a desirable image. Contrary to your ethnocentric assumptions, it actually works and that's why it continues to happen.

That is the culture in Asia.

BMW understands that adapting its strategies to local/regional culture is important in marketing its products successfully and in this case, appropriately hosts an event in such a manner.
Different strategies are used for different markets. In this case, "half naked chicks dancing around" works in Taiwan; whether or not a Westerner from North America or Europe agrees with this or sees this in positive light is irrelevant as a business case.

I was going to post about the same... I feel sorry for people that project that their view of the world is the only correct one and other countries should not have different culture/habits.

I am generally interested in how different countries lead to different sales strategies and how multi-national companies are able to adapt to various markets with the same product. Still, I try to never judge on it...

I like the 18's, more purposeful and less bling than the 19's. I like the 19's too, more bling and less purposeful than the 18's.
