I have these two unexplainable curb rashes on the same rear passenger tire (almost 1/2 the circumference) although I never parallel park or when I do i am super careful and use the camera and park like 2 ft away from the curb... What pisses me off is how it's happening not that it happened twice and on the same tire...
Anyways, anyone use any of these two companies for mag repair or recommend a reputable one? My mag is the silver 19" http://www.exactwheels.com/ http://www.pjacques.com Last edited by aboulfad; 05-02-2016 at 06:16 PM.. |

BMW Laval can take care of it with their sub-contractors.

Thanks, I knew going through the dealer is another option but I wanted to cut the middleman! I will go visit exact wheels and see what they are about.

BMW Laval use exact wheels to repair the wheels.
I've had curb rash repaired recently at exact wheels recently but I had to pressure them to simply repair the rash because they wanted to re-powdercoat the whole wheel. |

And how did it turn out? Not sure how they will proceed with the F8x mags, they look like they are machined... was it for your E92 OEM mags?

Colour match was spot on. I couldn't tell where the repair was made but when I was there, I asked the guy to point it out to me and he pointed out where the over spray was but barely visible without really paying attention and I can't tell where it is now.
sorry for the long rant but hope that helps. It was for an aftermarket wheel for E92 - RAC RG63 in Anthracite. |

I visited the place, very busy these few weeks. It seems our F8x mags even the silver ones are a complicated job. He had to get few guys to take a look. One full day job and around $400! He said that the inside of the silver mag is a tri-coat.

Did they fix your F8x wheel: silver or black? I'll go check them next as $400 is kinda crazy from exact wheels, kinda far but I'll see if they give an estimate by email!

I had the same issue on my wife's X1 last year. I did it my self just by sanding it going from 120 to 1000 grid (with water) and finally coated with a clear polish...cost 15$...almors one year later the wheel looks amazing. These wheels are not painted, so the sanding works great.
