Differences between US-spec and Euro-spec F8x?
I tried searching but couldn't find any threads that addressed this - does anyone have a summary of the differences between the regions?
I'm aware there's apparently a euro MDM as opposed to what we get in the US, curious what other differences exist. |

Besides MDM, the other differences will be similar to those for other BMWs, namely in lighting, telematics, probably some minor emissions hardware. For example, US cars do not have rear fog lights. Some markets also have the option of a higher top-speed limiter.

On the software side:
- EU LED lighting (Anti-dazzle) - EU Rear Fogs - DME software (ie: use of DTML for emissions) DCT software may be different as it was with E9X, need a bit more research before making any claims. There are also a number of feature differences, which are more personalized (mirror folding, etc).

Just like mkoesel mentioned about lighting...one of the most obvious differences between US and EU spec F8X's are the tails. US spec has red blinkers in their tails, while the European market has yellow blinkers.

Yes I agree with you on this! IMO for the E9X chassis, both the amber and the red blinkers looked nice but with the F3X/F8X chassis the red blinkers look better.

Reading some of the forums point to the anti-dazzle LED system, the US LED can be coded to behave similar to EU's but its not 100% identical. Due so some missing code or part in the US version, they just aren't able to perform the same.
Trunk in the EU cars comes with warning triangle. UK steering wheel is also on the wrong side XD

There is also a difference in the bumper where US has the amber inserts and Europe does not.

Speedo is in mph in the US
Some icons in the cluster are also different (brake and check engine for example)

We also get those really sweet-looking orange reflectors on the front bumper! Lucky us.

Unless you did ED, then you have the triangle too . I guess you mean UK, not EU

Fact on Euro delivery for warning triangle. Also I saw a thread around on where to get the same folding triangle and mounts to add to anyone who doesn't like the void in the trunk (if they're aware of its purpose). Sweet on the Dazzle fix and ifs as good as reported then ppl with LEDs should take note. Thread didn't fill up as quickly with differences as I thought. All thats reported above seems to be it.
