Aluminum blade or Carbon fiber interior?

Any idea if the stock carbon fiber interior is actually carbon fiber, or is it simulated?

I put in an order for an Alpine White M4 with extended black leather, trying to decide if I should go with the Carbon Fiber interior or Aluminum blade.

I really like the idea of carbon fiber interior, it matches the whole theme of the car legitimately including lightweight carbon fiber parts, but I'd be a little put off if it was fake carbon fiber hah.

I think the aluminum trim might look better with the black interior that I ordered but I'm such a sucker for carbon fiber, that I couldn't pass it up.

CF trim is a no brainer for me. Aluminum trim wears horribly.

Me. CF is becoming uncool with the new CF-everything craze. I ordered my M3 with the good old Al trim.

I think the aluminum trim and the wood looks horrible. Carbon Fiber is the only one that looks decent. Take a look at aluminum and wood when you build it.

Yah, I don't l know what everyone's complaining about with their Individual stitching options when black with CF trim is clearly the most sporty

Funny thing is after reading this post, then playing with the online configuration tool, I changed my order from aluminium to the carbon fiber trim. I have the full black leather so it's going to be a dark interior, especially after I tint my windows. But the nice colorful HUD and Nav will liven things up quite a bit!

Hey OP, can you edit this to be a poll?

I had originally picked aluminum (I liked it in my E46 with Cinnamon interior) as I don't like how my wood trim shows swirls/superficial scratches. However, now that I have accepted that such things are inevitable on both the inside and the outside of the car, I do like that CF look. So I switched. I think with SO either will look fine.

F*** wood.

I couldn't get CF on the build your own site. Do you need to get something else to have that option? I was thinking, great now BMW is making you spend more by having you buy from that damn mperformance catalog.

It's the default setting, so as long as you don't click aluminum or wood it will automatically be the choice. http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/conte...modelcode=15tn

Carbon fibre is actually the standard interior, as is confirmed with standard equipment list and when you view the interior without selecting wood or aluminum. The Configurator is a bit bugged out and you can not manually select carbon fibre.

was at the dealership today and they had several Ms. 6, 5, 6gc. all had carbon fibre. there was a 335 with carbon fibre too, but totally different.

the Ms cf was glossy like the m3 roof. the 335 was plasticy.

if it is like the Ms had...I'M IN.

THE 3's cf was crap
