I guess I'm in the minority. I ordered the aluminum trim. I initially had extended beige interior with carbon fiber and just recently changed to full black leather and aluminum blade. I like a little contrast between the leather color and trim. Black with carbon fiber is just too dull and dark for my taste.

Interior Trim
I ordered the aluminum blade trim. On the Configurator only have two options the wood and aluminum. Did I make a mistake or is the aluminum blade a good choice with black sears MG exterior.

I went to check, the Audi has wood in it, and now I have yet an other reason to hate it. Disclaimer is the usual: I own a Jack Russell. Last edited by Lups; 04-19-2014 at 05:47 PM.. Reason: typo |

I think that wood trim can look excellent, even in a "sportier" car. It all depends on the interior and exterior choices. For the F80 M3, my first choice would be the carbon fiber interior trim (sporty and relatively unique). My second would be a darker wood grain trim. Unfortunately, some types of aluminum trim (particularly the non-textured or merely "brushed" varieties) both look and feel cheap. In addition, it warmer climates, the aluminum trim can get scorching hot after leaving the car parked in the sun for a few hours. Disclaimer: I have an Australian terrier.

The dog disclaimer is excellent one, we now learned that Aussies have the patience required to see the different perspectives, and even go into details, where Jacks just make a lot of noise with little to offer. When we get to malamutes and such, this will get interesting. |

Let's wait for the German Shepherds before forgoing the ceremony.
To the trims, I think i went with the fibers, now that I think of it. I can't believe how much I'm stressing about stupid paint, and I have all this other shit waiting on my porch. I will say this again, I will pay you very well (up to two cups of coffee) if someone would just do this for me, a bonus doughnut will be offered, if I have enough money left after the dealer gets his own. |

I agree that wood does not belong in a sports car. Luxury cars like S-Class, 7 series, Bently, Rolls-yes I can understand, but in a high tech, futuristic piece of technology you can sit in and drive, the last thing I want is trim that my grandparents Buick had in it.
Would a space shuttle use wood trim in the cockpit? Would a stealth bomber use wood trim? Would an F1/DTM car use wood trim? Just my worthless two cents |

I have had aluminum trim in my E46 M3, and I don't like wood interior, so carbon fiber is my only choice. I do like CF interior trim because it would match the CF roof and other M performance parts later (CF diffuser, CF front lip, etch). But I also worry that every M3 and M4 will have the CF trim. Oh well.
You see, I have a toy poodle.

the e92 m3 at my dealer (used) had the cf trim and it's NOT glossy like the roof cf. They had a few new M cars (5, 6, 6gc) all with cf interior trim. THAT MATCHED. it was gorgeous and shiny like the roof of the used m3. if it's ain't and smooth like the roof cf I'm all over that for the interior

Gotcha. It is a big difference. Will the standard trim of CF in the new M3 be real cf like the roof or carbon leather trim?

Fuck i need a hobby, I'm not googling that. I almost understand (sometimes) what you guys are on about, and then the shortened words begin, and if they are not in the lines of wtf and such, I'm out.
But I'm improving, but still not googling that one, you probably just added something for my God I have to decide list, and that my friend, is cruelty in it's purest form. Last edited by Lups; 04-21-2014 at 10:50 PM.. Reason: typoes... |
