M4 Gran Coupe coming in September 2014 (?) [Confirmed to be mistake]
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/usa/p...item=node__807 “The new BMW 4 Series Convertible came out in March. In June, following the Coupe and Convertible, the third model in the new 4 series will be launched: the Gran Coupe. And for those customers who enjoy an even sportier drive, the M version will be available in September. Two further new M models are the BMW M3 Sedan and the BMW M4 Coupe, both available as of June.” |

Hmm, I find this hard to believe since we have the full 2014-2015 production schedule here http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=975444
We did hear from a trusty source several months back not to expect an M variant of the 4 Series Gran Coupe anytime soon. Also if it was true, we would have at least seen a test mule/prototype driving around. |

It almost sounds like he was referring to the Convertable being an M version in September....if we haven't seen any test mules thus far, it seems unlikely for a GC M to be out so soon?

Unlikely, wasn't it denied recently in a BMW M interview I think?
Also from the article why is a 2 Million sales mark dreaded?

We have investigated that for a long time, but in our opinion the M4 coupe and M3 sedan spread the models/products wider. The coupe and gran coupe look similar and speak to the same customer. With a real 4 door sedan (M3) we have a wider product. Another reason is the trunk lid on the gran coupe because of the rigidity of the body and the weight, it's not that suitable for an M car." Reithofer may have been referring to the M4 convertible which begins production July-October of this year (per 2014-2015 model schedule). Note: We've just confirmed with BMW that this was a mistake.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."
