Build Status Change

For those of you that got very early build weeks- how many weeks before your build started was it before your status changed from ' scheduled for production' to ' confirmed for production'?

I've been wondering the exact same thing this week.

After months of waiting I've become so impatient that any sign of progress will be a godsend at this point.

Mine is one of the dealer launch cars and I'm not sure whether other cars will follow the same schedule... but here is approximately what I have experienced:
  • Originally I was told week 21 and then later it got changed to week 19
  • For the longest time when I called the BMW# it said, "scheduled for production with no confirmed production date"
  • On Apr 14th I tried to change the color of the car but was told that the order was locked down
  • On Apr 15th the status changed to "Confirmed for production" (I think that was the verbiage). I can't recall if it also contained the estimated completion date.
  • A few days later it went to "In production, estimated completion date Apr 30th". It took an entire day before the MyBMW site indicated "Production begins"
  • Late last week the estimated production date changed to May 2nd
  • Early this week (Monday Apr 28th perhaps?) it went to "In the body shop, estimated completion date May 2nd"
  • On Apr 29th or 30th it went to "In the paint shop, estimated completion date May 2nd"
  • This morning on May 1st it said "Production complete, released to carrier". On the evening of May 1st MyBMW still says "Production begins"

So basically, it took 2 weeks from the time that it exited status 111 until production was complete.
