If passenger door side is open. U can just press lock and as soon as the passenger door closes. It'll automatically lock the car.
Explain the gas cap thing.

I thought the doors actually locked after the two honks, no?

Does he mean the little hole you can stick the gas cap in to hold it while pumping gas?

Yes I believe they are two separate observations. 1) there's a place to hold the gas cap while filling and 2) you can press lock with the passenger door open and it will lock when closed.

The low beam output is disapointing because of stupid outdated DOT laws in the US. Get your car coded to the EU standard (VLD) and they'll be perfectrly fine.

BTW, the 5-series still uses reflectors for the high beams. They make for more precise beam shaping.

Found out the M3 is a very good car for road trips. Bought the M3 (6MT) just after Christmas with the idea that I'd take it on an upcoming road trip. Had about 3 weeks to get the first service done and left from RI on Jan 20. Drove down to FT Meyers, FL and spent a few days with the folks.

Then up to Daytona for the Rolex 24 hours. Impressive track, cars and race.

Then went west to the San Antonio, TX area. Spent a few days looking at houses.

Then did the 2K miles drive home in 2 days. Not something I would recommend.

So, I've had the car for a little over a month and it currently has 6200 miles. Really enjoyed spending that much time behind the wheel. A fun car.

If you go to the oil gauge in the little screen on the instrument cluster and hold the button in while on it, the oil gauge does a reset to see how much oil is in it

I’ve had mine over a year and a half and I only have 5700 miles.

I'm aware of the laws.

Projector units are superior, period. I don't want to code anything. There's little use for high beams where I live.

I didn't discover this today, but it's snowed 5 inches in the last hour and I am reminded why I must leave Iowa to daily drive a rwd torque monster.
