If you have comfort access - stand right behind the bmw roundel (on the trunk), swing leg towards rear bumper and the trunk pops open.

I am not sure if this has already been posted but I discovered this last night.

I discovered that I can change the color of my interior lighting.

(forgive my ignorance... I'm new to BMW's and new cars in general)

Yep - although some diffusers (including the M performance one!) will block the sensor, making this function not work.

Yeah, I definitely appreciate this feature! It came stock with the white lighting, I was sad. I was so happy to be able to switch back to the old school BMW orange! Made it feel more like home.

haha yeah but arent you worried about the contrast between the different shades? would bother me
I mean we can't even have front windows tinted to begin with in Vancouver, but I've seen people dark window tint all around
I've seen various posts debating the stock tint on the front windows, but my tint guy said that there's a stock 70% on the fronts already, so 75% may not even be an option for darkening (would still help UV). There's also a small imprint on the bottom right (from the drivers outside) that suggests that may be the case.

I ended up getting 50% front and 35% rear because of local laws so I don't mind the scale difference, but IMHO that big a ratio difference with the rears jet black and the fronts barely dim would look a bit wonky.

That it takes exactly 17 days and 26 different combinations before you get your M1/M2 buttons to a place you enjoy and can remember.

how do you do this? I miss the orange instrument lights

can the "ambient" lighting around the A/C controls be changed too?

Its only for the ambient lighting (gauge and button color is not affected).

Go to your iControl->Vehicle Settings->Lighting-> Interior.

There will be two modes, Sport and Classic, with Sport = White and Classic = Red. White is selected by default.

I kinda wish I could have my ambient light change automatically from white to red when I go from M1 into M2.

I discovered that the fold-out "clothes hook" on my M4 is completely useless, even for hanging a single light garment on a wire hangar. This is the second time I've used it in almost two years and both times the garment was on the back seat when I got home.

I'm quickly coming to the realization that the DCT prefers to be manually shifted.

I just recently learned that the memory seat setting will move automatically with a single press instead of having to hold the button down (car has to be off and door has to be open).

Got my first "hater moment," as some dude in a Dodge Charger passed me on my right to take an offramp and gave me a jerking off motion.

Stay jelly.

But apparently you can only fold the mirrors by using the switch. Is there a setting that you can make the mirrors fold when locking the car? My Audi and BMW Z4 did this. Did a search but looks like the M4 does not.

The only way this can be achieved is to get that feature coded. There a many features that you can code at the same time.
You can just hold the lock button down on the remote to fold the mirrors and roll the windows up?

Unless you use the M head-up display, radio info goes to the screen in between the odo and tach.
Or if you wear polarized sunglasses, you won't see anything in the HUD
You can rotate the HUD, and the polarized biz improves.

Cheers
Yea but barely and then crooked which drives my OCD cazy
No, then it matches the angle of the hood - extra points

Instead of rotating the HUD, just tilt your head.
