I placed my ipad air on the passenger seat and I received a warning chime that the passenger needs to put the seatbelt.

Anything that goes in the trunk and fits goes under that net. I.e. Groceries, gym gear, bottles of wineetc. It's a perfect match for the F8x because you can drive spiritedly and not hear things move around in the trunk. It has a lot of stretch so lots can fit under it.

Go figure....it's the only piece in the car that costs under a buck that impresses you the most.

What settings did you decide on?

There was a thread about this a while back; and here are the notes I jotted down to use when we did ED about a month ago. My wife and I agreed that the change was a noticeable improvement...

Absolute flattest I could get - Bass -6 or 7 (I can't tell from the pic but I remember its four bars from the left showing), Treble center, balance center, fader front, logic 7 OFF

EQ setting:
  • 100hz +3
  • 200hz -4
  • 500hz -1
  • 1khz +2
  • 2khz -2
  • 5khz flat
  • 10khz -1

Under a buck? Surely you jest! That's a gen-u-ine BMW M3/M4 Cargo/Trunk/Storage Net that will cost you between $57.55 to $87.95 to replace.

This can be fixed by replacing the air with helium.

I want pure, natural sound coming from the car, and now with it off I think its just sounds perfect. Frankly, BMW did an admiral job of trying to incorporate this feature into the car, but no matter what they did its just a terrible idea from the beginning. Pump artificial engine noises into the cabin from the speakers? Come on, if I was an exec and heard this idea pop up I would of shot it down immediately, its just dumb.

This is the rough guide I followed to turn it off. Took me 30 - 45 minutes in total.

I will add I was concerned about messing with the interior bits as I was afraid I would break clips, or it wouldn't all fit back together right, but its all back snug just the way it was. Take your time, and its really easy.

Also, if you think active sound isn't noticeable I can guarantee anyone who is even mildly tuned into the sounds their car makes will 100% notice the difference. It is worth your <1hr of time and pretty easy to do. The hardest part is that final plastic cover over the amps, it takes some muscle to slide it over to the right enough.
Admirable job on this but the same thing can be coded out in 30 seconds without having to worry about breaking clips. Plus you get to do other really cool things that BMW has hidden in the car as well!!

My bad. The Chinese hourly rates must have gone up.

Today I learned that I don't have an entry for "BMW Online Widgets" so I can't select the "Digital Clock with Weather" widget for the split screen.

I can select the analog clock, or weather, but no joy for the digital clock with weather.

2017 M4 with every option except CCB and park assist.

The new iDrive doesn't have that option.

discovered while sitting in my driveway that touching the brake pedal makes the led headlights move the light beam up slightly. assuming this is to compensate for the nose diving during braking...

True, but that option isn't free and I have no intention of coding the car.

Coding is a net positive if you code on enhanced Bluetooth.

You don't know what you don't know, but like others have said, once you custom code your car you'll never go back. It adds another layer of personalization and in most cases enhances your driving experience.

You are missing out if you don't code. There are so many neat features at your finger tip.
