I hope you are right and it's something simple like that. Can't say I agree about the tone through the revs sounding like an N54 or N55 but it's very hard to say from a video. I kind of like the sound though.

I have down pipes, custom pipe work and an akrapovic exhaust system and my baby girl sounds pissed off like that too. Mix in some internal goodies and my N54 would scare people just by sound!

"Knowledgeable about cars". I would have to disagree on this. Most members here know how to copy paste thing they read online n mags. Majority probably havnt even exposed themselves to situations where YOU have to bleed your brake lines or swap pads.

Yeah, true. Still eager to see this thing, and even more so to drive it. Also, we need to put the I6 vs V6 arguments to rest!

That doesn't mean the new teaser is good or the old one was bad. Both are not the case, despite your opinion. This new teaser is really quite terrible.

Now the E46 M3-ish rasp, I don't mind that at all. I like it.

No doubt these cars will be epic performers, and be quicker than any M3 yet produced. Very very efficient.

It remains to be seen how much fun they are to drive and how much character they have.

As for the sound in the teaser, it'll sound nothing like that in the real world unless you drive around inside a steel box.

Maybe the steel box package will be offered by BMW.

Aerodynamics would take it a hit but it would sound great.

I agree that ultimately it will all come down to driving enjoyment. If the next M3/4 is a blast to drive then all will be well.
