Apex EC-7 18x10et33 square on f80
here is my setup on an f80 with adaptive suspension: square 275/35/18 Nitto NT01 on an also square 18x10et33 Apex EC-7; 10mm Macht Schnell spacers in front, none in rear.
posted these in the track section as that is my purpose for the setup but wanted to also post the photos up here. ^^ not touching, about a centimeter or so clearance... it's close but shouldn't be a problem i don't think ^^ my best attempt at showing the clearance on the inside of the REAR ^^ my best attempt to show the clearance on the inside of the FRONT getting a little close.

I forgot to ask, did you use your stock TPMS or none? I might just code mine so the light won't come on. Our TPMS are expensive.

I can comment on this. Stock front on 18s are 255/40/18, which stands at 661mm tall. There's only a few mm to spare before it rubs the fender lines during turns. 275/40/18 would put it at 677mm, which would rub the fender lines. 275/35/18 stands at 643mm, which is perfect for all around. Also, tires are really cheap on 275/35/18 vs 275/40/18. In racing, less you pay for tires the better.

Why do people choose a square setup for track use over the staggered setup? I don't understand...I would think having a wider rear tire would be more beneficial...?
Edit: Nevermind, found the answer online...it is due to reducing under steer and reducing uneven wear between front and rear tires.

Due to the square setup changing the ratio between front and rear tire widths, did you code Euro MDM? Or, since it's a track setup do you just turn TC off when tracking?

i ran in MDM the first two sessions to get an idea where it would kick in and where potential traction areas were... after that i turned it all off. i had track insurance, and i think it gives me a better feel of what the car's doing and it also seems to help keep the brakes cooler by leaving it off...

All but your last two photos disappeared. I'm debating between picking up a set of stock 18" or a set of EC-7 to run for AX.

Once you get suspension with camber, it will look perfect. What coilovers are you thinking?

camber plates is all i'm thinking at the moment ... not sure if i'll even go that route ... i love this car but right now i'm planning on keeping it just until early next year and then moving on so i probably won't do any hard core suspension stuff. part of the reason i got the adaptive suspension was so i wouldn't be tempted to swap springs/shocks or do coilovers, lol. i do agree that this is a great setup though!

Agree. Learn to drive the car in near stock form as fast as you can first, then upgrade. There are lots of M3 guys with stock suspension and camber plates in front. It just reduce your tire cost with the right camber, pays for itself in a track season.

no doubt. especially with some of that rough pavement out there. i'm interested to get feedback on the camber plates. i think a couple are rolling out now/soon so we'll see.

They may not be same function, be careful. TCK plates don't have sliders to adjust camber to desired values, but three bolt holes, so you jump from one hole to another. Max I get -4.1 deg, I am not sure yet what the next lower setting will give. I would suspect Ground Control plates will be sliders for more freedom in finely adjusting to desire values.
