HUUUGE thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread and the install manual. It made this job manageable but it nearly broke my will to live.

Friendly help in case anyone needs to redo their lip like I will when I get my front resprayed.
The plastic rivets can be purchased here https://www.brossautoparts.net/index...h=517170029532 The PN to sesrch for is 517170029532 You can buy a bag of 10 from Amazon as well. The ones that some have shown from McMaster Carr might be too short but I don’t know since I didn’t order them. If you measure the BMW ones and the McMaster Carr ones, you’ll notice. |

Well I finally finished this install. Whoa what a project. This is very involved and took me many hours over multiple days. Anyway thanks to everyone who contributed to this tread there's great advice here. Knowing what I know now after the install I would have ordered a replica lip and called it a day. This is a major PITA.
Anyway, I think I figured out how to use the little clips that are shown at the end of the install. They go behind the fender liner on the bottom of the bumper and hold the screws in place. |

When I tightened everything down I'm getting a slight separation on the left side splitter. I did not use beta link and just used 3m tape. Anyone else have this? These are oem splitters and the fitment on this one doesn't seem to be 100%.
It's not really noticeable but it's bothering my ocd eye |

I have the same issue as well. If you look closely at the CF Splitter, you can see that its not perfectly contoured to the bumper either. I used foam double sided tape to make sure it would stick to both surfaces and screwed them in too. Next time I put her on the lift, im going to double check the screws going into the bumper/splitters and make sure they are backing out.

I had a similar problem with a gap forming. I ended up removing all but 1 of the screws (think most laterally away from the point that the gap appeared) then went back and retightened the remainder of the lip to full tight. Once the lip was secure I made minor adjustments as needed and re-secured the splitter down. I believe 1 screw hole didn't line up appreciably. The result was no more noticeable gap compared between both sides.
Just my .02. Its worth getting everything nearly done and going back and tightening things down for proper alignment. |

I'm sure I have already posted in here, but I did the install of splitters and lip on my own. I used different width 3M tape, C clamped them to the bumper as I worked on the lip. My install was bombproof. The splitters didn't move at all when done. They were aligned properly, etc.
I had the bumper replaced along with the splitters and lip by a body shop. It was such an awful job I couldnt believe it. The splitters would move around when you touched them. I wouldn't dare look under the thing as who knows the nonsense I would see. Always better to do things yourself. |

Had the M-performance lip that I scored brand new from another member sitting in my garage for a hot minute. Finally pulled the trigger on the CF splitters which I picked up from the dealer today (pricy bastards). After reading thru this thread my confidence about this being a straightforward DIY install has dwindled a bit lol! Oh well, I’ll give it a go. I’ve spent 20 years in military aircraft maintenance. If I can interpret Lockheed Martin BP’s and AEI’s on the F-35 I can figure this out too.

M-performance CF Splitters and Matte Black Lip install complete. Did everything IAW with BMW’s instructions. I did forego using the Betalink sealant because I was uncertain if I wanted the splitters installed that permanently. So they have some play where they curve up, but since I drilled the required holes and attached them to the lip they ain’t going nowhere! Definitely would have been quicker if I had access to a lift instead of jack stands and laying on my back. All I know is that lip is mounted solid! I’d been wanting to do this since the car came with the M-performance CF Rear Diffuser and M-performance Exhaust w/ the CF Tips. Now the front has a touch of that CF bling to tie it all together! I’ll post up some better pics tomorrow, but here are couple right after I finished.

^ great job! Looks good. It’s nerve wrecking having to drill all those holes and put in all those screws but when down right, it isn’t moving... unless you smack your lip on a piece of mismatched section of road. Lol.
