Does crystalline on the windshield cause a halo effect from light sources, especially at night? Or does it affect your vision clarity in any way? Also, can it impact radar detector performance like metallized tint does (I know ceramic does not)?

Exact combo I have had on my 06 330i since 2009 when I got it. Fantastic tint with amazing heat blocking capability. I have compared interior temps with a buddies 330i with cheap 20% tint and my car's interior was 19 degrees cooler on a 114 degree day. A great investment for anyone living in a hot environment.

I have crystalline on our Tesla front windshield and it does slightly increase reflectively and decrease clarity, I can only describe it as lightly clouded appearance. It's noticeable (they left of the registration sticker area) to me and not sure I'd do it again.

I got Llumar Air80 all the way around. Can't tell there is tint on the car. I would have preferred if the tint had a slight reflective coating so people can't see inside as well. The tint does not interfere with radio frequency if you have a transponder in your car. Supposedly it has a slight tinge* of blue hue but I don't notice it, I might be color blind. Local shop charged $200 for the front windshield and $500 all the way around. I can't verify manufacturer's claim, but with a company that is listed, the information should be accurate.
78% light transmission 43% heat rejection 99% UV rejection I will use my UV meter and test the factory E-Glass to see what figures it put out. Last edited by nsxpowered; 07-24-2014 at 12:51 AM.. Reason: misspelling |

I just got 70% crystalline done all the way around the car. At night the headlights of cars reflect vertically around the defroster lines.
Anyone else have this issue? Apparently a lot of Tesla's have this issue when putting crystalline on. They seem to put that tint on more than any other car. |

I read of some people having haze issues with crystalline. I also just had suntek cxp put on and it definitely had haze issues and light diffraction issues at night (made lights look like stars). So I went back to my old reliable huper optik 40% tint and all is well! Very clear. Awesome heat rejection, no haze at all.

Suntek CXP 18% all around except windshield which is Suntek CXP 70% and no issue at all; HUD looks even better and no haze or distortion of lights either and comfort access is un-affected.
The only downside is a slight decrease of the radar detector's range... |
