I just installed mine too - I like it. From the extra noise the exhaust made, I think it's added about 6 bhp (making it exactly 450 bhp) to the engine output as well - can't wait to go for a drive!

The red button on its own gives you an extra 5 virtual HP dude!

it'll be under 10 bucks. So I consider this as "upgrade".

Here's a quick DIY
first use a small plastic pry tool to pry out the button
The next pic shows the clips and where you need to pry
Then disconnect the harness
Use a small pick to undo 6 lock tabs which separates the button
The next pic shows the button separated
Then when you look inside the button you can see two small lock tabs that you need to undo to free the button
Line the new button up and push into place
Reattach the back and connect the harness and push button into place
The final product lights up just like the original

Easy maybe 10 minute job.

Actually, you can't buy just the OEM button - you have to buy the entire switch & the switch is $98 on ECSTuning

It's been rumored that the OEM M5 red button would fit the F series switch - even if tru, you would need to pay for an entire M5 switch simply to swap out the button portion into F series switch (since M5 switch no worky in F series)

Won't work sorry - the internal structure of the button is different. Looks like it's not for an F series vehicle.

I thought so at first as well...but if you look at the pic in Post #92 above, and the Model "C" on Aliexpress (for cars with auto start-stop function)...the tabs looked identical!

The one you posted does not have the 2 tall tabs that are required to locate the switch cover. The pic in #92 has those tabs they're just not overly obvious. They are obviously missing from the one you posted.

Crap - I needed to look further down the page - they're selling several different ones on that page, not just the one in the pic at the top.

Model A and Model C do look correct. My OEM one has several notches out of the side that these don't have, but that didn't seem to affect the one I installed, which didn't have the notches. Apparently from what the original posted mentioned later, it does affect some vehicles (other models I think, not the F8X M3/M4s).
