My RW carbon purchase experience
I placed an order for CS style carbon fiber lip on their website two weeks ago. They told me the lip is back-ordered due high demand. I was told this particular style usually sold out immediately after batch came in and the best way to secure one is to pay first.
I asked them if I can cancel this order and received a refund if I changed my mind before the order gets shipped. They said YES and didn't mention anything else. Fast forward.... after reading a few posts online mentioning their CF doesn't fit well and poor finishing. I decided to go OEM. So I contacted them to cancel my order. They said fine, but will charge me a 5% cancellation fee and link me to a page on their site stating this fee. This doesn't make sense. This lip is not special or custom order but their regular stocked item, at least according to their product page. Why would you charge customer fee to cancel a back-ordered item that hasn't been shipped? |

Just charge it back. It costs them nothing to give you your money back. Don't let them screw you out of 5% for no reason. If its such a hot item it will sell again anyway.

Also if a merchant is worried about CC processor fee, they shouldn't charge customer's card until the item is ready to ship. They can request an authorization hold without actually charging the card. Almost all reputable eCommerce merchants does business this way. |

I am glad to hear it work out for you. They probably have decent products but I can't recommend their customer service. Its one thing to charge restocking fee or cancellation fee if it is custom made. But charging cancellation fee on regular back-ordered item that hasn't been shipped is not acceptable by today's business standard.

What good online credit card processor does that? I've been selling online for years. PayPal I think takes 30 cents for business accounts and Stripe completely got rid of it. No matter what it's nowhere near 5% even for companies who do charge some kind of fee.

Yes, there is a possibility that you may receive something doesn't fit or has cosmetic blemish. But at least eBay guidance allow you can return it for a full refund including original shipping. |

When seller refund customer via PayPal, any fee associated with that transaction gets refunded as well.
