Sonax Wheel Cleaner Plus
Hi everyone!
I was just wondering if the Sonax Wheel Cleaner Plus is safe to spray on the OEM BMW 19" 437M Black (Picture) wheels. My concern is that the spray will mess up the gloss black finish. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thank you, Dilan |

if the wheels are brand new don't waste your time. instead use ironx/tarx/clay bar to clean it up then seal it with a wheel specific coating or some sealant that is decently durable

I have been using Sonax wheel cleaner on my gloss black wheels for two years now. Everything seems fine to me.

I have no affiliation to Esoteric Car Care. FYI: IMHO, there is no wheel cleaner that you can simply spray on and rinse off in order to get a good result. The Sonax products are epic, I use their Wheel Cleaner Plus. It's a great product, but I only tend to use it when I really need to, I find P21S Gel to be an effective interim wheel cleaner. You have to agitate with all of these products to get the wheel and barrel clean to my OCD standards, do yourself a favor and get the long (large) Wheel Woolies tool to agitate, it's soft on your wheels, but does a great job quickly. |

Agreed! It is still somewhat of a challenge to get the full barrel of the wheel for our cars since the brakes do snag on them. IMO, you'd still need a detailer brush to get the lugs and air valve.

you're wasting an expensive product for no reason. no offense, but do a little more research in proper decontamination because it doesn't sound like you have a good grasp on how it is performed in the detailing world.

you are correct. only on my experience with this stuff. I took my wheels off the other month and sprayed this stuff on let it sit then rinsed off. all that was needed after that was a soap down. done. looked like new. I was impressed. but yes I noticed the bottle was half way gone when I was done with all 4 wheels.

Sonax is safe on the wheels. So is Nextzett, Nanolex, and just about any color changing wheel cleaner out there.

I just used this stuff today for the first time. I went all in and bought a gallon of this stuff. This stuff was seriously spray and rinse for me. I used a pressure washer and it was done.
I used chemical guys diablo wheel cleaner and wheel wax before but still spent a lot of time still brushing with wheel woolies. Edit: Once the wheels dried, there were some spots behind the spokes and far behind the barrel where the power washer didn't hit that still was a bit dirty. So, to fully clean, a little agitation is necessary in the hard to reach spots. Also, I didn't find the smell to be that unbearable. Being out in the open does help.
