Should I extended the BMW warranty?
Hi guys, as above, how much will it be approx and is it worth it. Car has done 30k and I will possibly keep the car another 12 months. What's your thoughts? Cheers

Any problems so far? If not, then personally I wouldn't. At 30k miles with no problems, you should be soundly in the bottom of the reliability bath tub curve.

It's a difficult one, if something like the gearbox/engine went bang you'd be glad you did but from what I've seen they are pretty robust.
I've nearly done double your current mileage with zero issues but I've still got another 17 months of warranty on it, when mine runs out I'll probably get an extended warranty if they will give me one. Pop your car details in here to get a quote https://www.bmw-warranty.co.uk/BMW-c...SAAEgKTA_D_BwE

My warranty just expired and the car has done about 28k. I was recommended taking a warranty through motoreasy, which I have done.
They gave me a good deal for the Plan A (a top spec one) for £480

How did you get it to £480? Typed in my info and for plan A, it's come out @ £640 (£50 excess)!!

I believe consumer protection regulation gives ample protection if major mechanical items fail, the test being:
Is it reasonable for a component (engine/gearbox/diff etc) to fail after 3 year and 30k miles. Its why manufacturers often replace these items FOC under "good will" because if taken to court they would certainly lose. Gets more complicated as time passes and mileage increases though. |
