Picture request: wheels vs. sidewalk with surround view
Hey there,
I've been trying to find videos and pictures of the surround view cameras on the F80 (or other 3ers). Most videos I can find just show ppl parking into narrow places, but what I care about is if you're able to see the sidewalk clearly to prevent from ruining the expensive wheels. Being able to see where the sidewalk starts when parking parallely or driving down narrow drive-ways is a must for me to be willing to pay the 1000€ extra money for the cams. Please, could someone make a picture/video of the surround view while standing near a sidewalk? The F80 I had for a test-drive unfortunately didn't have the cameras. Thanks so much in advance daffy |

Curbs are very easy to see and come out clearly in the cameras. At night with no streetlamps is the only time it's a little less clear but still manageable because the brake and reverse lights will illuminate the curb. I'll try to take some pics later today.

The passenger side mirror also tilts down when the car is in reverse. I use the tilt down feature in conjunction with the top view cameras because I trust the reflection in the mirror more than the image from the cameras. The combo of both is awesome for parallel parking.

I know about the tilt-down function which is included in the mirror-package (it's actually the only reason I paid money for it in my F87).
My weak point is parking without reversing (just driving into a big parallel parking spot facing forward) and getting close to the curb without ruining my front wheel. Hearing that the dark 437M can not be properly repaired because of some fancy finish and seeing the price of a new oem rhim doesn't make it any better |
